PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jim Beam (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rauno Rauhala (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rauhala has chosen Kreator, Impossible Brutality as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Rauno Rauhala told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Rauno Rauhala!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Marco Blurström and Tarja Halkonen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice sprawl there from Rauhala as Beam shoots in.
Rauhala looks to land a combination. Beam sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Beam avoids the body shot from Rauhala.
Beam dives in and grabs Rauhala's left leg, looking for a takedown. Rauhala pushes down on Beam's head and hops out.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rauhala throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Beam fails to land the takedown.

Rauhala leaves Beam with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Beam misses with a takedown attempt - Rauhala sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rauno Rauhala comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Rauhala has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
