The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Guy is defended easily by Cervic.
Guy shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

and Cervic counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Guy shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Cervic counters with a shoot takedown. Guy fights it but they end up in guard.

Cervic tries to close the distance and clinch but Guy swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Another Guy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Guy shoots and misses
and Guy takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Guy looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Cervic!
Guy cracks Cervic with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Guy postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Cervic looks a forlorn figure.
You get the feeling that Cervic really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Guy lands a nice shot to the head.
Cervic squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
Guy is in the full mount, landing strikes.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
