Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Nikolay Dukov! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Kareem Amuy Jabbar! The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Illya Tyunina and Dmitry Maklakov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jabbar uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Dukov has time to react. Nikolay Dukov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Jabbar looks to throw the jab but Dukov is out of range. Jabbar shoots in but no luck this time. Jabbar throws a big shot that misses. Dukov checks a low kick from Jabbar. Dukov fails with the takedown and Jabbar counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Jabbar. Jabbar scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Jabbar is looking to advance position but Dukov has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. You get the feeling that Jabbar really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Dukov is working for a guillotine from mount but Jabbar frees his head quite easily.
Jabbar tries to lock up and control but Dukov gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dukov is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Jabbar to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Jabbar shrugs it off. Dukov throwing strikes here but Jabbar is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Dukov is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Jabbar has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Jabbar! Jabbar throwing strikes but missing. Jabbar trying to move into half guard but instead Dukov has managed to sweep! Jabbar tries to land a sweep but no joy. Jabbar is looking to stand up but Dukov isn't so interested in that idea.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dukov stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jabbar swivels though and keeps the full guard. Dukov pushes down on Jabbar's leg and manages to get into half guard. Dukov is looking to take a break and control but Jabbar is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Jabbar trying to hold on to Dukov's head to control him but Dukov postures up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jabbar keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount. Dukov passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Jabbar! Jabbar working to try and regain half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Dukov lands a big elbow. Dukov avoids the attempt from Jabbar to control. Dukov content just to control the position here. Jabbar is working to get back to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Nikolay Dukov will probably get the nod. That's time! Dukov's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Dukov blocks a low kick nicely. Jabbar is looking to clinch. The fight stays on the outside here - Jabbar looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Jabbar is looking to clinch. Jabbar gets the takedown into side control. Jabbar is chipping away with strikes.
Dukov parries the strikes from Jabbar easily there. Jabbar is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Dukov to escape.

Jabbar is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard. Jabbar is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dukov keeping full guard, as Jabbar tries to pass. Jabbar is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Jabbar missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Jabbar tries to free his leg and advance position but Dukov is retaining full guard. Dukov wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Kareem Amuy Jabbar has got the better of the ground game so far. Jabbar with a flurry of punches that miss. Jabbaris looking to pass into half guard but Dukov pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Dukov is in guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Dukov slips nicely into half guard. Dukov passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Jabbar! Jabbar is squirming around, avoiding Dukov's attempts to control the action. Dukov with shots to the head and body - Jabbar looks very uncomfortable down there. Dukov trying to control but he's not successful this time.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dukov working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Jabbar turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Dukov off and cradles Jabbar's limp body as Dukov celebrates with his corner.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:21 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Nikolay Dukov!
