Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between For Shure (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Holden Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, For Shure!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Holden Jones!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Shigeki Fujiwara and Taro Takaoka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jones feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Jones wants to control from the top but Shure keeps moving.
Shure is trying to control the position but Jones postures up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Shure wants to sweep but no luck.
Shure keeping moving, preventing Jones from controlling successfully.
Jones looking to sit in guard and control but Shure gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jones wants to sweep but no luck.
Shure tries to stand but Jones is controlling from the bottom.
Shure postures up in Jones's guard and throws a big left but Jones blocks it.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Shure lands with an uppercut that bounces Jones off the cage and back into rage.


It looks like Holden Jones has been cut.

Shure throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Shure tries to clinch but Jones moves out of range.

and Jones counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Shure's guard now.
Jones working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Shure wants to sweep but no luck.
Shure is breathing heavily.
Jones is looking to work some ground and pound but Shure has wrist control.
Shure is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Jones postures up.
Shure looking to hit a scissor sweep but Jones is one step ahead there.
Shure keeping moving, preventing Jones from controlling successfully.

Jones loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Jones looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Shure!
Jones can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Shure is looking to escape.
Jones takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Jones throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

Jones is stalling here but it's allowed Shure to get half guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Shure trying to hold on to Jones's head to control him but Jones postures up.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Jones throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Shure was covering up waiting for the punch and Jones finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Shure tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Jones thows a big elbow that misses.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Shure is trying to keep Jones in close.
Jones stays in close to Shure's body and controls the position.
Shure really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Shure wants to stand and escape but Jones is having none of it.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Jones looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Shure!

Jones looking to land elbow strikes but Shure uses the position to regain half guard.
Jones throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Jones working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Jones sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Shure defending well though.
Jones winds up and cracks Shure with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Jones thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Shure's head.
Jones is trying to control. Shure wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Jones might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Shure kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Jones is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Jones changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Shure looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Shure is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Jones asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Shure is not content to let Jones control the position.
Jones creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Shure sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Jones lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Shure down.
Shure manages to work his way to half guard, despite Jones's best efforts.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Jones scoring with strikes to the body and head.
The fighters are battling for position here. Shure manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Shure will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Holden Jones showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Jones closes the distance and clinches up with Shure, looking for a takedown. Jones pushes Shure against the cage but Shure circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Some wild striking there from Shure.
For Shure is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Shure stalks Jones and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Jones's face. Jones staggers backwards, shaken.
Jones defending well as Shure loads up on a big left hand.
Shure with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Shure fails with the takedown

and Jones counters with a takedown into side control.
Jones in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
Shure is trying to control Jones's posture but Jones avoids it.
Jones looks up at the clock and then as Shure takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Jones smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Jones stands up and beckons Shure to his feet.
Shure tries a head kick but it misses.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Jones shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Jones looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Shure with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Holden Jones is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Jones decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Shure, up you get!
Shure is looking to clinch.

Jones wants to control from the top but Shure keeps moving.

Shure kicks Jones off and gets to his feet.
Shure throws a nice looking combination but Jones bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Jones shoots in and bounces Shure off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Shure wants to stand but Jones is controlling the position.
Jones trying to control but Shure is working from the bottom.
Jones looking to pass the guard.
Jones must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Shure kicks Jones off and gets to his feet.

And that's the end of the fight!
Holden Jones comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Jones winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
