Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ralph Pootawn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Davis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ralph Pootawn! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Michael Davis! The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Joseph Jones and Steve Montenegro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A combination from Davis does no damage. Davis throws a right and a left that both miss. Davis looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Pootawn is fending him off so far but Davis persists. Nope, Pootawn circles away and we're back to standing. Davis misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Davis looks to score with a jab to the body but Pootawn is just out of range. No joy there for Davis, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Pootawn drives through and clinches with Davis against the cage.
Pootawn is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Davis pulls him back up using the underhooks. Pootawn is pushing Davis up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Pootawn is adopting a defensive guard. Pootawn is trying to control the position but Davis postures up. Davis is fighting to break Pootawn's control of his arms but Pootawn is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Pootawn not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Pootawn lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Pootawn is working for takedown but Davis is calmly controlling the position for now. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Davis uses from the top position. Pootawn thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. Pootawn keeping moving, preventing Davis from controlling successfully. Pootawn gets a clinch. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Pootawn lands a shot to the body. Davis trying to stall but Pootawn improves his position.

Ralph Pootawn has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Michael Davis. Pootawn is trying to drag Davis to the mat but Davis just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Davis is breathing heavily.
