Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Travis Parker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, William Costa!
The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Alexandre Firmino and Paulo Santos.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Parker getting the better of the striking in that exchange.

Costa shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Parker's guard.
Costa throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Costa slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Parker doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Costa trying to control the position from guard on top but Parker is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Costa won't allow Parker to get back to his feet.
Costa in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Costa drops back looking for a leg! Parker is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Parker manages to kick Costa off! Costa jumps back into Parker's guard.
Parker wants to stand up but Costa is controlling him.

Costa postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Parker knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Costa on the ground.
Costa stops Parker from standing up.
Costa is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Parker utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Costa seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Costa slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Parker is looking for a sweep.
Parker is trying to escape and get back to his feet.

Parker trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
Parker tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Costa wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Costa in side control, just content to control the action for now.

Costa creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.

Parker is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Costa is controlling him well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Costa decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Parker keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Costa closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Costa lands in his opponent's guard.

Costa drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Costa jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Costa is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Costa controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Costa trying to control but Parker is working from the bottom.
Costa passes Parker's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Costa perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Costa is keen to just control but Parker is a slippery customer.
Parker pushes Costa off looking to stand but Costa dives back in and keeps control.

and Costa counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Parker is staying active underneath Costa, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Costa takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Costa is trying to control. Parker wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Parker blocking the ground and pound attempt from Costa.
Costa thows a huge punch but Parker dodges it nicely.
Costa not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Costa looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Costa lands strikes from half guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Costa works his foot free and advances to mount.

Costa jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Parker manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Parker avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Costa.
Parker tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.
Costa scores with punches and elbows.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Parker is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Costa.
Costa wants to control but Parker is keeping busy.

Costa looking for the rear naked choke. And he's got it! Parker taps!
