Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Bobby TupperII! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Marco Gracie! The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Thiago Cunha and Matheus Silva.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! TupperII lands a head kick. Gracie smiles back at him and beckons him forward. Gracie will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. TupperII drops Gracie with a beautiful combination! Gracie stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - TupperII is looking for the KO!
Gracie is rocked!
It looks like Marco Gracie has been cut. TupperII shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Gracie as he jumps to the side. Gracie is still on wobbly legs! Can TupperII finish him? TupperII looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Gracie is fending him off so far but TupperII persists. Nope, Gracie circles away and we're back to standing. Gracie gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and TupperII counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Gracie seems to have recovered his senses. TupperII is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Gracie gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bobby TupperII. That's going to take a lot out of him. TupperII working hard to break the clinch. TupperII breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
TupperII throws a head kick that misses. TupperII shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Gracie as he avoids it easily. TupperII shoots in but Gracie avoids the takedown attempt easily. Gracie shoots for a takedown but TupperII saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Gracie looks gassed!
That's one minute gone in the round. TupperII lands a nice looking kick to the body. Gracie takes a step back to recover. TupperII moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. TupperII throws a wild combination but nothing lands. TupperII lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt. TupperII throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Gracie's head. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! TupperII forces Gracie back against the cage and clinches. TupperII lands a knee to the head.
TupperII's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. TupperII lands with a hook. Gracie tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. TupperII shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Gracie sprawls well. Gracie wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. TupperII gets slowly back to his feet. TupperII closes the distance and clinches.
That's two minutes gone in the round. TupperII breaks from the clinch.

Gracie has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from TupperII. TupperII shoots in for a double leg but Gracie sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. TupperII gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Gracie counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. TupperII has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Gracie is working away from the top position though. TupperII has one foot on Gracie's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet. Gracie takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from TupperII.
That's three minutes gone in the round. TupperII tries to bum rush Gracie with a series of wild strikes but Gracie uses good footwork to avoid the assault. No luck for Gracie with that takedown attempt. TupperII shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. TupperII showed some decent athleticism there. Gracie is refusing to be controlled, as TupperII sits in half guard. TupperII sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Gracie defending well though.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gracie is in trouble now - TupperII has advanced to mount! TupperII looking to control and managing it successfully. TupperII with shots to the head and body - Gracie looks very uncomfortable down there. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. TupperII has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Gracie's face.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Bobby TupperII dominated that round. The cut man is working on Marco Gracie's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
TupperII goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. TupperII will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
TupperII tries to clinch up. A telegraphed takedown attempt from TupperII is defended easily by Gracie. TupperII misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
TupperII connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Bobby TupperII seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. TupperII shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Gracie sprawls well. Gracie wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. TupperII gets slowly back to his feet. Gracie is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky. Gracie displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from TupperII. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bobby TupperII. That's going to take a lot out of him. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. TupperII is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Bobby TupperII is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. TupperII misses with a few strikes there.
TupperII displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Gracie. Gracie shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. TupperII throwing strikes off his back to little effect.

TupperII can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Gracie is looking to escape.
That's two minutes gone in the round. TupperII tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. TupperII's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Gracie stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Gracie wants it to stay on the feet. TupperII swinging wildly here.

Bobby TupperII is winning the standup battle so far. Gracie wants to clinch but TupperII slips to the side and TupperII counters with a left and a right that stings Gracie. Gracie displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from TupperII. TupperII lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
TupperII displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. Gracie takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. TupperII connects with a jab and follows up with a big overhand right! Oh that's hurt Gracie! He's out on his feet! TupperII rushes in and drops Gracie with another big right hand, forcing the referee to stop the fight!
