The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A shot to the liver by Barca. Beautiful body shot.
Barca moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.

Miller shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Barca's guard.

Miller changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Barca tries to avoid it but Miller manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Barca to the ground. Barca escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Miller takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Freddy Barca seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Barca uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Miller has time to react.

Miller closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Barca to the mat! Barca manages to get full guard.
Barca wants to stand and escape but Miller is having none of it.

Miller stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Barca swivels though and keeps the full guard.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Miller uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Barca.
Barca doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Miller closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Barca did well to prevent Miller getting side control.

Miller is looking for a kimura but Barca is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Miller to get the leverage.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Miller connects with a nice short shot to Barca's temple.

Miller is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Barca is just riding it out for now. Miller eventually gives up the hold.
