Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Todd Nieds (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kurt Angle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Todd Nieds! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kurt Angle! The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Hugh Johnson and Skip Squint.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A jab from Nieds misses. No joy there for Nieds, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

The fight moves into the clinch position. Nieds breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Angle fails with a takedown attempt. Nieds misses with a jab, cross combination.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Angle avoids a punch combination nicely.
Angle shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Nieds sprawls well. Nieds wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Angle gets slowly back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nieds misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Nieds throws a right and a left that both miss. Nieds misses with a looping right. Angle is looking to clinch. Nieds fails to land with a series of punches.
Angle fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Todd Nieds has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kurt Angle. Angle changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Nieds tries to avoid it but Angle manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Nieds to the ground. Nieds escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Nieds misses with a double jab.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Angle ducks under a wild hook from Nieds. Nieds looks to land a combination but Angle avoids it well. Nieds throws a right and a left that both miss. Angle tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Nieds swivels and escapes. Angle shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Nieds pinned against the cage. Nieds gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Nieds looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Nieds fails to land with a series of punches.

Nieds lands a left and a right that send Angle crashing to the mat, dazed. Nieds thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
It looks like Kurt Angle has been cut. Nieds throws a nice looking combination but Angle bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Nieds throws a series of punches but Angle avoids them all with ease. Angle closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Nieds quickly recovers to half guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Nieds wants to get back to his feet. Angle is taking a breather. Nieds says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Angle connects with a nice short shot to Nieds's temple. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Angle is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Angle stands up and beckons Nieds to join him on the feet. Nieds misses with a double jab.
Angle displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Nieds throws out the jab. Nieds ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Angle moves away. Angle closes this distance looking for a takedown but Nieds circles away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Todd Nieds dominated that round. The cut man is working on Kurt Angle's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
The fight stays on the outside here - Angle looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Nieds throws an overhand right that lands on Angle's shoulder, as Angle tries to avoid the shot. Angle tries to close the distance and clinch up but Nieds swats him away and circles back towards the center. Nieds swinging wildly here.
A looping hook to the body misses from Nieds. Angle does a little dance to reset his feet. Nieds misses with a looping left. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Nieds looks to land a combination but Angle avoids it well. A combination from Nieds does no damage. Nieds throws a hook to the side of Angle's head but Angle sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nieds throws a right hand that Angle ducks under and follows up with a left that Angle also avoids with ease. Nieds misses the jab. Angle keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Nieds lands a left and a right that send Angle crashing to the mat, dazed. Nieds thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet! Nieds tries to keep at a distance but Angle has taken the fight into the clinch. A short right hand to the side of the head by Nieds. Angle leaning against his opponent.
Nieds breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
A combination from Nieds does no damage. Angle gets a clinch. Angle is looking to break free of the clinch but Nieds has double underhooks. Angle taking a breather. Nice body punch from Angle. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Nieds's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Angle dodges the punch combination from Nieds.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nieds misses with a wild combination.
Angle shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Nieds is trying to defend but Angle finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Angle tries to pass to full mount but Nieds defends it. Angle seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Angle is looking to take a break and control but Nieds is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nieds tries to get to full guard but Angle has control of the leg. Nieds is looking to control Angle's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Nieds avoid being mounted? Angle takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Kurt Angle. Nieds avoids the head kick by Angle.
Nieds throws a right and a left that both miss. Angle tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target. Angle avoids a punch combination nicely.
Angle throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Nieds's waist but Nieds gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Angle off to one side.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Nieds misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Angle.
Nieds rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Angle moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Angle throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

and Angle counters with a nice double leg into guard. Nieds utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Nieds managing to control the position. Angle is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Angle trying to control but Nieds is working from the bottom. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Kurt Angle will probably get the nod - 10:9. The cut man is working on Kurt Angle's cut. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

and Angle counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Angle stops Nieds from standing up. Nieds keeping moving, preventing Angle from controlling successfully. Angle might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Nieds kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Angle controlling from the top position. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Kurt Angle was stalling too much, according to the referee. Nieds lands the left hand. Nieds misses with a combination
and Angle counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Angle trying to control but Nieds is working from the bottom. Angle passes into half guard. Angle is looking to advance position but Nieds won't allow it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Angle stops Nieds from getting back to his feet.
Nieds moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Nieds keeping full guard, as Angle tries to pass. Angle passes easily into side control. Nice work. Angle in side control, just content to control the action for now. Angle tries to score with some ground and pound. Nieds controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nieds is trying to escape and get back to his feet. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. Angle is looking to take a break and control but Nieds is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Nieds tries to escape but Angle is in control. Angle trying to control the action but Nieds is working from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Angle has knee on belly and moves into mount. Angle trying to control but he's not successful this time. Nieds is trying desperately to improve position. Angle controlling his opponent. Angle trying to control but he's not successful this time.
And that's the end of the fight! Kurt Angle comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Angle has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
