PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Shane Cook (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ramba Somdet (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cook's entrance music is Black and Yellow - Wiz Khalif. A fine choice. Ramba Somdet will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Shane Cook!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ramba Somdet!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Chris Downing and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Somdet wants to clinch up but Cook keeps it at a distance.
Somdet takes a head kick and shrugs it off.


It looks like Ramba Somdet has been cut.
Cook with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Cook connects with a nice looking jab.
Somdet wants to clinch.
Somdet steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Cook.
Somdet shoots in for a takedown but Cook shows good takedown defense.
Somdet tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Cook paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Cook gets the takedown into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Cook is putting a hurting on Somdet here, landing some big shots from side control.
Somdet really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Cook. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Cook lands some shots froms side control.
Somdet on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
Cook landing a few strikes.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Somdet takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Cook is looking to take a break and control but Somdet is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Cook in side control lands a decent elbow.

Cook works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Cook has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Somdet taking a bit of punishment here - Cook scoring with strikes.
Cook scores with punches from side control.
Somdet takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Cook working the ground and pound.

Somdet wants to control but Cook postures up.
Somdet tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Cook working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Somdet looks gassed!

Cook is working Somdet over with some ground and pound from side control.
Cook cracks Somdet with a big right hand but Somdet just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Cook grinds an elbow into Somdet's temple.

Cook has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Somdet!
Cook has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Somdet's face.
Somdet is bucking up trying to escape but Cook cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Cook connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
BOOM! Cook connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Cook looking to finish Somdet with some ground and pound. This is bad for Somdet!
Cook has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Somdet's face.

Somdet is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Cook lands a heavy elbow.
Somdet is bucking up trying to escape but Cook cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Somdet is wriggling around trying to escape.
Somdet wants to hold on but Cook pushes him away.
Cook scores with a couple of good head shots there.

Cook has isolated one of Somdet's arms. Somdet looking to fight him off but Cook twists into an armbar. It's tight... Will he tap?? YES, he's tapped! This one is all over!
