Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cain Colbert (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and George Kalir (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cain Colbert has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the super heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Cain Colbert!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, George Kalir!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Jorge Garcia and Chad Campbell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Colbert fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Kalir dives in and grabs Colbert's left leg, looking for a takedown. Colbert pushes down on Kalir's head and hops out.
Kalir takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Colbert defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Kalir.
Kalir shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Kalir uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Colbert.
Kalir shoots in for a takedown but Colbert shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Cain Colbert has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of George Kalir.
Kalir closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

Kalir changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Colbert looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Colbert is trying to improve his position.
Kalir wants to control but Colbert is keeping him busy.
Colbert manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Kalir thows a big elbow that misses, also allowing Colbert to regain full guard.
Kalir must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Colbert is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Colbert working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Kalir.
Colbert wants to sweep here but Kalir controlling him for the moment.
Kalir trying to control but Colbert is working from the bottom.
Kalir trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Kalir looking to sit in guard and control but Colbert gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Kalir wants to stand and escape but Colbert is having none of it.
Colbert cracks Kalir with a solid left hand.
Kalir is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Colbert is controlling him.
Kalir is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Colbert won't allow Kalir to get back to his feet.
Colbert trying to control but Kalir is working from the bottom.
Kalir wants to get back to his feet but Colbert is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Kalir keeping moving, preventing Colbert from controlling successfully.
Colbert stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kalir swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Colbert won't allow Kalir to get back to his feet.

Kalir has his foot on Colbert's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Colbert works his way back into a safe position though.

Kalir wants to stand up but Colbert is controlling him.
Kalir looks gassed!

Kalir wants to sweep here but Colbert controlling him for the moment.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kalir is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Colbert is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Colbert lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Colbert passes Kalir's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Kalir is staying active underneath Colbert, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Colbert connects with a nice short shot to Kalir's temple.

Kalir is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Colbert stops Kalir from getting back to his feet.
Kalir is trying to get back to full guard.
Colbert is pressing down on Kalir's thigh, looking to free his foot. Kalir is holding on for now.
The fighters are battling for position here. Kalir manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Kalir is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Colbert defends well.
Colbert distracts Kalir with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Colbert wants to control from the top but Kalir keeps moving.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Cain Colbert dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Kalir closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Kalir tries to pass to full mount but Colbert defends it.

Colbert slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Kalir trying to control the position from guard on top but Colbert is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Kalir got a little sloppy there for a moment and Colbert has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Kalir has managed to get both his arms back between Colbert's legs - danger averted.

Kalir stands and throws Colbert's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Kalir swings around for an armbar but Colbert sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Kalir's guard.

Kalir is looking for a triangle but Colbert pushes his legs off easily.
Colbert won't allow Kalir to sweep him here.
Kalir is breathing heavily.
Kalir controlling Colbert's posture.
Colbert passes Kalir's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Colbert lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Kalir tries to kick Colbert off but Colbert keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Kalir is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Kalir pushes Colbert off looking to stand but Colbert dives back in and keeps control.
Still in half guard, Colbert seems content to control.
Kalir has hold of Colbert's hands but Colbert slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Colbert wants to free his trapped foot but Kalir is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Colbert passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Kalir!
Colbert pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Colbert landing strikes from the mount.
Kalir can't escape the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Colbert won't let Kalir get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.
Colbert postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Kalir looks a forlorn figure.
Colbert lands a heavy elbow.


Kalir is rocked!
Colbert postures up and throws a massive shot that knocks Kalir out cold! Two more strikes to his unconscious opponent for good luck and this one is all over! Colbert goes absolutely crazy with his corner! Wow, you can see how much that win means to him!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:37 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Cain Colbert!
