Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Clark Kent (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ju Kon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Clark Kent has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Clark Kent!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ju Kon!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Steve Erwin and Skip Squint.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kon steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Kent. That one must have hurt.

Kon gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Kent pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Kon is keeping the position for now.
Kon will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

Kent drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Kent jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Kent wants to control from the top but Kon keeps moving.

Kent closes the distance and clinches up with Kon, looking for a takedown. Kent pushes Kon against the cage but Kon circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Kent shoots in and bounces Kon off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Connects with an elbow from the bottom, proving to the judges that he's still active off his back.
Kon doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Kon lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Kent!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kon wants to get back to his feet but Kent is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Kent stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kon swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The fighters circle momentarily. Kent darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Kon throws a body punch but Kent moves out of range.

We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Kon has eaten all the pies!
Kon swings for the body but Kent moves out of range.
Kon keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Kent shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Kon as he jumps to the side.
Kon takes one to the chin there.
Kon pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Kent scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.


Kon is rocked!
Kon stuffs the takedown attempt from Kent. Kent gets slowly back to his feet.
Kon is still on wobbly legs! Can Kent finish him?
Kon connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Kon takes a jab right on the kisser.
Kon throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Kon seems to have recovered his senses.

Kon stuffs the takedown attempt from Kent. Kent gets slowly back to his feet.
Kon fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Kent manages to avoid it.
Kent looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Kon is fending him off so far but Kent persists. Nope, Kon circles away and we're back to standing.
Kent lunges at Kon with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Kon's hand.
Kon swings widly with a right hand
and Kent counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Kent slips a jab from Kon.
Kon takes a swing at Kent's ribcage but misses.

Kent drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Kent tries to free his leg and advance position but Kon is retaining full guard.
Kon throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Kon is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Kon gets to his feet - back to striking we go!
Kon misses with a right hand
and Kent cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Kent tries for a takedown but Kon sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Kon pushing out the jab but it's not landing.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kent closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Kent lands in his opponent's guard.
Kent stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kon swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Kon is working an open guard so Kent takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Kent shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Kon's guard.
Kent pushes down on Kon's leg and manages to get into half guard.
It looks like Kent is going to stand back up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kon tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Kent is pressing down on Kon's thigh, looking to free his foot. Kon is holding on for now.
Kon is looking for a sweep. Kent is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Kent seems to be looking for submissions.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Kent is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Kent closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Kon to the mat! Kon manages to get full guard.
Kon is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Kent is controlling him.

Kon has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Kent off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Kent changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Kon looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Kent swings around for an armbar but Kon sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Kent's guard.
Kent is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Kent manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

This has been an exciting period of action!
Kent sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Kon's guard.

Kon has one foot on Kent's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Kon avoids the head kick by Kent.
Clark Kent is winning the standup battle so far.
Kon swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Kent throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.


That has opened up Ju Kon's cut even more.
Kon misses the shot to the body.
Kon takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Kent misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Kon has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Kent has a takedown stuffed.
Kent throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Kon.
Kent looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Kon keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Kent feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

We are yet to see a takedown attempt from Kon in the fight. On paper you would think he is the more dominant ground fighter so let's see if these unusual tactics pay off.

Kent jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Kon is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Kon and Kent has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Kon is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Kent asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Kon is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Kon throws a lazy right hand but Kent sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Kent shoots in for a takedown but Kon shows good takedown defense.
Kent is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Kon looks to land a body kick but Kent moved away.
Kon throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Kent fails with a takedown attempt.
Kon misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Kent.
Kon ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Kent moves away.

Kent shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Kon is in trouble now - Kent has advanced to mount!
Kon stops Kent from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better.
Kent looking to finish Kon with some ground and pound. This is bad for Kon!

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Ju Kon's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:46 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Clark Kent!
