Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Brando Haywood! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ultimate Warrior! The judges for this bout are George Francis, Cecil Peabody and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Haywood tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Warrior keeps the fight on the outside. Haywood tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Haywood wants to clinch up but Warrior keeps it at a distance. Haywood tries to close the distance and clinch but Warrior swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Warrior shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Warrior looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
That's one minute gone in the round. Warrior is pressing down on Haywood's thigh, looking to free his foot. Haywood is holding on for now. Warrior content to control rather than advance.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Warrior passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Haywood! Warrior controlling from mount. Warrior throws some wild stikes that Haywood manages to avoid easily.
Haywood on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Haywood tries to get out of the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Warrior tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Warrior working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Haywood turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Warrior off and cradles Haywood's limp body as Warrior celebrates with his corner.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:02 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Ultimate Warrior!
