Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Asbjoern Andersson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Dwyer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Asbjoern Andersson looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Asbjoern Andersson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Michael Dwyer!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Chris Downing and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dwyer tries to close the distance and clinch up but Andersson swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Dwyer looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Dwyer.
Dwyer wants to stand but Andersson is controlling his arm.
Andersson is not content to let Dwyer control the position.
Andersson manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Dwyer is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Dwyer tries to kick Andersson off but Andersson keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Andersson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Dwyer swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Andersson wants to pass the guard but Dwyer is keeping the position.
Andersson is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Michael Dwyer wasn't active enough on the ground.

Andersson tries to sprawl but Dwyer drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Dwyer tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
Andersson wants to control but Dwyer is keeping busy.
Dwyer tries to stand and escape but Andersson is controlling the position.
Andersson has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Dwyer is working away from the top position though.

Dwyer lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Dwyer is trying to control the action in half guard but Andersson is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Dwyer is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Dwyer wants to stand up but Andersson has a hold of him and won't allow it.

Dwyer closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Andersson to the mat! Andersson manages to get full guard.
Dwyer wants to stand and escape but instead Andersson has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Andersson slips nicely into half guard, despite the strikes coming from Dwyer.

Andersson has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Dwyer tries to reverse the position but Andersson maintains control.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Andersson will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Dwyer wants to control but Andersson is having none of it.
Andersson tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Dwyer sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Andersson prevents Dwyer from improving his position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Asbjoern Andersson.

Dwyer throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Andersson was covering up waiting for the punch and Dwyer finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Andersson is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

That was a close second round but I would say that Asbjoern Andersson will probably get the nod.

Dwyer is desperately trying to improve his position but Andersson has a good base and remains in mount.

Andersson takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Asbjoern Andersson overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Dwyer is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.

Dwyer tries to bum rush Andersson with a series of wild strikes but Andersson uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Dwyer fails in his attempt to clinch.
Dwyer fails with a takedown attempt.
Andersson slaps away a takedown attempt from Dwyer, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Andersson throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Dwyer was covering up waiting for the punch and Andersson finishes the takedown easily into guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
