Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dante Fertit (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Meisner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fertit comes to the cage accompanied by Roots Bloody Roots. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Robert Twigg and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Meisner fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Fertit avoids it really well and circles away.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Meisner.
Meisner misses with a straight left.
Fertit rushes Meisner and presses him up against the cage.
Fertit is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Meisner can't fight it off and eventually Fertit manages to take the fight to the floor. Meisner looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Meisner has momentary wrist control but Fertit slips an elbow through the middle.
Fertit advances position into side control!
Meisner is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Fertit has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Meisner is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Fertit yanks on the arm and Meisner is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Fertit.
