Strongback is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: See See Rider by Elvis. Billy Strongback has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Stewart Dunkirk and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Parkkonen looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Strongback showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Parkkonen.
Strongback shoots in for a double leg but Parkkonen sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Strongback avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
A jab from Parkkonen misses.
Parkkonen gets the takedown into side control.
Parkkonen lands a nice forearm strike.
Parkkonen throwing strikes but Strongback manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control!
Strongback decides to stand back up. Strongback steps back and let's Parkkonen get back to his feet.
Matti Parkkonen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Strongback shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Parkkonen but Parkkonen pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Parkkonen throws a right hand that Strongback ducks under and follows up with a left that Strongback also avoids with ease.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Strongback not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Strongback wants to stand but Parkkonen has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Strongback stands and steps away. Parkkonen gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

and Strongback counters with a series of strikes. Parkkonen will be more careful next time no doubt.

Parkkonen throws the left hand but Strongback avoids the punch easily.

and Strongback counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Parkkonen striking off his back but it's not causing Strongback any problems.

Strongback wants to get up but he can't break Parkkonen's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

and Strongback counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Strongback darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Parkkonen tries to roll over but Strongback keeps him under control.

Strongback stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Parkkonen to get to his feet.
Parkkonen walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Strongback checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

Parkkonen throws a left that rocks Strongback and follows with a right that sends him tumbling to the canvas! Parkkonen dives into side control, looking to finish! Can Strongback regain composure!
Strongback is rocked!
It looks like Billy Strongback has been cut.
Parkkonen cracks Strongback with a big elbow. Oh, he's hurt! Parkkonen immediately mounts and start dropping bombs! Strongback is done! The referee jumps in and saves him from any more punishment - a quick and decisive finish by Parkkonen!
