Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nicanor Veloso (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dirt Down (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dirt Down has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Nicanor Veloso's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Hugh Johnson and Winston Howard.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Down circles away from the clinch attempt.
Down avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Veloso tries to clinch up but Down circles away and keeps his distance.

Down swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Veloso is now in Down's guard. A big mistake from Down there, giving up the dominant position!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Down controls Veloso momentarily but Veloso frees himself.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Down is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Down escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Veloso gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Veloso gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Veloso wants to clinch up but Down keeps it at a distance.
Veloso tries to clinch but Down moves out of range.

Down avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Down closes this distance looking for a takedown but Veloso circles away.
Veloso tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Down paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Veloso swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Down counters by moving into the clinch.
Veloso makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Down turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Down manages to end up in side control.
Down tries to advance to mount but can't.
Down tries to score with some ground and pound. Veloso controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

Down cracks Veloso with a big right hand but Veloso just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Veloso is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Down off and has taken his back!
Down breaks Veloso's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Down wants to pass the guard but Veloso is keeping the position.
Down postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Veloso manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Down's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Veloso gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!

Veloso lands a jab to the nose.
Veloso wants to clinch but Down slips to the side
and Down counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Down not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Down with the ground and pound but Veloso uses the opportunity to regain guard.
Down in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Veloso is adopting a defensive guard.
Down drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Down jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Veloso bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Down's guard.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Down fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

and Down counters with a series of strikes. Veloso will be more careful next time no doubt.

and Down decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Veloso's guard.
Down is looking to advance position but Veloso has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!

and Down counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Down has gone for a leg lock! Veloso slips out almost immediately though and dives into Down's guard.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

That's time! Veloso's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Down swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Veloso is now in Down's guard. A big mistake from Down there, giving up the dominant position!
Down working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Veloso doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Veloso manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Down changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Veloso looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Down wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Veloso, who protects the arm well.
Veloso is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Down is controlling him well.

Down thows a huge punch but Veloso dodges it nicely.
Down is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Veloso doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Down.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Veloso pushes Down off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Down has Veloso up against the cage in a clinch.
Dirt Down is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Veloso doesn't land with the attempted body shot.

Nicanor Veloso has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dirt Down.

Dirt Down comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Down has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
