Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Crazy Horse! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Mark Thomas! The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Steven Brown and James Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Horse tries to clinch up but Thomas circles away and keeps his distance. Thomas fails with a takedown attempt. Horse darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Thomas looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Ground and pound from Horse. Thomas looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Horse lands strikes from half guard. Horse working over Thomas with some ground and pound. Thomas looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Horse lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Thomas trying to control but Horse postures up.
Thomas is defending against the submission attempts here by Horse.
Thomas is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Horse pulls his head out easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Thomas looking for submissions off his back. Thomas on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Horse wants to control but Thomas is keeping him busy. Horse wants to work for an arm triangle but Thomas is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Thomas is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Horse pulls his head out easily. Thomas looks gassed! Horse uses his free foot to push down on Thomas's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Thomas. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Thomas tries to hold on but Horse postures up. Horse looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Horse is in the full mount, landing strikes.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Thomas is trying to stand up. Thomas swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing. Thomas is looking to get to half guard. Horse jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Thomas manages to avoid the submission attempt. Thomas throws a couple of strikes even though he's not really in a good position to do so.
Horse will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Thomas gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Thomas looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Horse is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Thomas is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
