Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
11 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Madden Rush! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jan Dittrich! The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Anthony Taglia and Reed Andrews.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rush scores with a one two! Dittrich had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
It looks like Jan Dittrich has been cut. Rush ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Dittrich misses with a low kick as Rush jumps back. Dittrich connects with a solid leg kick. Rush misses with a takedown attempt - Dittrich sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. The fight stays on the outside here - Dittrich looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Rush looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Rush connects with a body shot. Dittrich throws an overhand right that lands on Rush's shoulder, as Rush tries to avoid the shot. Dittrich keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Rush fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Rush lands a jab to the head.
A jab from Dittrich misses. Dittrich looks to throw the jab but Rush is out of range. Rush keeps the fight on the outside. Rush ducks under a wild hook from Dittrich. Rush clobbers Dittrich with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Dittrich tries to clinch up. Dittrich takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dittrich tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Rush paws at him with a jab and circles away. Rush scores with a nice head shot. Dittrich scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Nice takedown defense from Dittrich. No joy for Rush on that attempt. Dittrich throws a low kick but Rush moves out of range easily. Rush shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Dittrich is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Rush trying to control the position from guard on top but Dittrich is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Rush stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Dittrich swivels though and keeps the full guard. Rush won't allow Dittrich to get back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rush postures up in Dittrich's guard and throws a big left but Dittrich blocks it. Rush controls from within his opponent's guard. Rush seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Dittrich for as long as he can get away with. Rush passes Dittrich's left leg - he's now in half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rush is just content to waste time from the top position. Dittrich takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard. Dittrich is trying to control the position but Rush postures up. Rush sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Dittrich's guard. Rush is looking to advance position but Dittrich won't allow it. Rush is trying to control. Dittrich wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Dittrich pushes Rush off looking to stand but Rush dives back in and keeps control.
Rush throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Dittrich is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Dittrich has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Rush is working away from the top position though.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Rush digs a good hook to Dittrich's body.
Rush avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Rush lands a nice shot that snaps Dittrich's head back.
Dittrich tries to clinch up but Rush circles away and keeps his distance. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Dittrich. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Madden Rush dominated that round. The cut man is working on Jan Dittrich's cut. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Rush misses with a wild combination.
Rush will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Rush bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Rush misses with a series of wild punches.

Dittrich is looking to clinch. Rush throws a body punch but Dittrich moves out of range. Rush misses with a series of wild punches.
Dittrich tries to clinch but Rush is having none of it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Rush moves into range and connects with a jab. A swing and a miss from Dittrich. Rush takes a swing at Dittrich's ribcage but misses. Rush shoots in for a takedown but Dittrich shows good takedown defense. Dittrich misses with a straight left.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dittrich thows a left - swing and a miss! Jan Dittrich is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Dittrich is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Rush. Rush misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Dittrich.
Rush fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Dittrich misses with a body kick. Rush looks to score with a jab to the body but Dittrich is just out of range. Rush misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Dittrich throws a head kick but Rush moves out of range.
Dittrich drives through and clinches with Rush against the cage.
Dittrich goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

Dittrich stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body. Rush takes a shot to the head. Rush has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Dittrich is trying to keep an underhook but Rush manages to get the takedown into half guard. Dittrich tries to get to full guard but Rush has control of the leg. Rush passes the guard and advances to mount!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rush swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Dittrich is now in Rush's guard. A big mistake from Rush there, giving up the dominant position! Rush keeping moving, preventing Dittrich from controlling successfully.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rush is adopting a defensive guard. Rush is trying to control the position but Dittrich postures up.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Rush looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Rush connects with a solid leg kick. Dittrich takes a jab right on the kisser.
Dittrich cracks Rush with an open hand slap. Rush lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Dittrich backs up against the cage.
Dittrich looks to land a right hand but Rush moved out of range. Dittrich throws a big shot that misses. Rush misses with a straight left. Dittrich lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Rush bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Dittrich is looking to reverse the position. Dittrich is breathing heavily. Rush is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Dittrich knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Dittrich struggling a bit here. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Madden Rush dominated that second round. The cut man is working on Jan Dittrich's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!
Nice straight punches there by Rush. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Rush. Rush scores to the head and body with a nice combination! Rush gets a takedown into half guard. Dittrich keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Rush is looking to take a break and control but Dittrich is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Rush missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Dittrich tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Rush has advanced to mount. Uh oh.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rush looking to control but Dittrich is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Rush throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Rush goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Dittrich turns into him and now he's in Rush's guard.
Rush trying to keep a closed guard but Dittrich is proving a slippery customer.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Rush looking to hit a scissor sweep but Dittrich is one step ahead there. Rush is adopting a defensive guard. Rush not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Madden Rush is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rush is pulling down on Dittrich's head. It's preventing any offense from Dittrich, at least for the moment.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Madden Rush. Rush moves away from the strike by Dittrich. Rush ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Rush checks the leg kick nicely there.
A decent looking cross lands there for Rush. Rush feints and as Dittrich raises his hands in defense, Rush changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Rush trying to control the position from guard on top but Dittrich is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Rush stops Dittrich from standing up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rush is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Rush wants to control from the top but Dittrich keeps moving. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Rush controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
And that's the end of the fight! Madden Rush showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Rush, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
