Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Lou Rin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matt Pettis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Lou Rin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Matt Pettis! The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Ren Mimura and Taro Takaoka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rin wants to clinch. Rin swats away the attempt to clinch by Pettis. Rin has managed to clinch.
Pettis is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Rin keeps control of Pettis as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Pettis missing with knees to the body.
Rin tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Pettis just stands there and leans against the cage. Rin gets control of Pettis's arms and successfully pulls guard. Rin will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Pettis is pushing down on Rin's leg trying to pass to half guard. Rin is fighting to maintain full guard but Pettis has managed to sneak the leg through. Rin might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Rin is refusing to be controlled, as Pettis sits in half guard. Rin is trying to maintain the position but Pettis is very close to passing his half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pettis trying to pass the guard but Rin defending well. Pettis is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Rin tries to get to full guard but Pettis has control of the leg. Pettis is pressing down on Rin's thigh, looking to free his foot. Rin is holding on for now. Pettis wants to lay and pray for a moment but Rin keeps working.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Pettis drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Rin had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Pettis defends it easily. Pettis slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Rin keeping moving, preventing Pettis from controlling successfully. Pettis decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Rin, up you get!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pettis shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Rin pinned against the cage. Rin gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Pettis attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin. Rin misses with an uppercut. Pettis is looking to clinch but Rin is avoiding it.
Pettis misses with a few strikes there.
Rin shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Pettis shoots in and bounces Rin off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Pettis trying to stand up but can't free himself from Rin's guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rin keeping moving, preventing Pettis from controlling successfully. Pettis wants to pass the guard but Rin is keeping the position. Pettis showing good wrestling skills to control the position. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Rin wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Matt Pettis dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Nice sprawl there from Rin as Pettis shoots in. Pettis wants to clinch up but Rin keeps it at a distance. Pettis steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Rin. Pettis jabbing away but nothing is landing. Pettis is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Rin tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Pettis paws at him with a jab and circles away. Rin clinches with his opponent.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Rin fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Pettis wants to get back to striking at distance but Rin won't allow it.
Pettis throws a punch but it's blocked by Rin. Pettis looking for a takedown. Pettis fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Lou Rin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Matt Pettis. Rin jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Pettis walks away with a smile on his face. Rin gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pettis feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Pettis is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Rin working a defensive guard here.
Pettis wants to control from the top but Rin keeps moving.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rin working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Pettis. Pettis throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Rin works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Pettis passes into half guard. Rin looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Pettis shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Pettis is trying to control. Rin wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rin regains full guard. Nicely done. Rin is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Pettis controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Pettis must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Rin working a defensive guard here.
Pettis slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Rin gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Pettis prevents Rin from improving his position. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Pettis is working for a submission of some sort.
Pettis wants to free his trapped foot but Rin is holding on for dear life with his legs. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Matt Pettis showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!
Rin misses with a combination
and Pettis decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Rin's guard. Pettis stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Rin swivels though and keeps the full guard. Rin has a closed guard, preventing Pettis from standing up. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Rin keeping moving, preventing Pettis from controlling successfully. Pettis is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Pettis stands and throws Rin's legs to the side, diving into side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pettis tries to score with some ground and pound. Rin controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Rin is not content to let Pettis control the position. You can see the frustration on Rin's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Rin gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there! Pettis with a couple of short strikes.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Rin is bucking up trying to escape but Pettis cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Pettis working for a submission but Rin is keeping him at bay. Pettis trying to control but he's not successful this time. Pettis throwing strikes here but Rin is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Pettis throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Pettis wants to control the pace but Rin is squirming around nicely.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pettis is trying to control here but Rin has managed to regain half guard.
Pettis is looking to advance position but Rin won't allow it.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Pettis stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Pettis wants it to stay on the feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Pettis throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land. Pettis with a jab. Rin tries to clinch there but Pettis circles away.
Pettis scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Pettis decides to stand back up. Pettis steps back and let's Rin get back to his feet. Rin tries to clinch but Pettis moves out of range. Rin keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Pettis checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time. Lou Rin has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Matt Pettis is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Pettis circles away from the clinch attempt.
And that's the end of the fight! Matt Pettis comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Pettis winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
