Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diaz throws a half hearted mid kick.
Beefington doesn't manage to clinch there - Diaz circles away.

Beefington gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Beefington is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Diaz wants to control from the top but Beefington keeps moving.

Beefington has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Diaz is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Beefington.

Beefington is trying to stick to Diaz's back but Diaz is turning into Beefington. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Beefington's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Diaz.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
A battle for position here, against the cage.
Diaz tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Beefington just stands there and leans against the cage.
Beefington pushes off an throws an elbow but Diaz leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
Beefington trying to land knees to the body.
Beefington is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Diaz gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Beefington lands an elbow inside.
Beefington keeps control of Diaz as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Diaz is trying to force a seperation but Beefington has the dominant position.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Diaz wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Beefington's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Beefington is fighting off a takedown attempt but Diaz is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Beefington to the mat. Beefington regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Beefington throws his legs up looking for a submission but Diaz uses it to pass to side control.
Beefington is breathing heavily.

Diaz decides to stand back up. Diaz steps back and let's Beefington get back to his feet.
Beefington shoots in and drives through. Diaz sprawls well.
Rick Diaz has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Calder Beefington.
Diaz lands a two punch combo.
Diaz circles away from the clinch attempt

and Diaz counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Beefington!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Beefington can't escape the position.
Diaz cracks Beefington with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Beefington tries to reverse the position but Diaz maintains control.
Diaz lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Beefington hang on?
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!



Diaz shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Diaz was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Diaz not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Rick Diaz overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Beefington is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Diaz jumps into side control!
Beefington is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Diaz asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Beefington wants to improve his position, back to half guard but Diaz has ideas of his own. He's got hold of Beefington's far side arm and it looks like he's got an Americana. Ohh! Ohhhh! OOOOOOOOOH! A human being's arm is not meant to bend like that! Beefington is tapping like a morse code operator on the Titanic! SOS SOS! He's out of here! Great win for Diaz!
