Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Bryan Hawk! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Tom McGettigan! The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Skip Squint and Donatello Bradman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hawk misses with a head kick.

Hawk is looking to clinch. Hawk clinches with his opponent.

McGettigan scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Hawk. McGettigan dips to his left and cracks Hawk with an uppercut!
It looks like Bryan Hawk has been cut. A punch combination from McGettigan misses. McGettigan cracks Hawk with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Hawk looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can McGettigan finish him?
Hawk is rocked! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Some wild striking there from McGettigan.
Oh Hawk is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Hawk scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Hawk shoots in and drives through. McGettigan sprawls well. Hawk seems to have got his legs back now. Hawk is trying hard to land a takedown here. McGettigan sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bryan Hawk. That's going to take a lot out of him. McGettigan lands a nice hook to Hawk's body. Hawk takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. McGettigan throws a series of punches but Hawk avoids them all with ease. McGettigan misses with the combination.
Hawk is trying hard to land a takedown here. McGettigan sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Hawk is breathing heavily. Good standup being displayed there by McGettigan as he connects with a hook. McGettigan cracks Hawk with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. McGettigan defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Hawk. Hawk throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. McGettigan lands an uppercut out of nowhere! Hawk falls backwards - clearly groggy! McGettigan dives in and finishes the fight with more strikes for a TKO finish!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:05 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Tom McGettigan! Tom McGettigan is the new welterweight champion!
