Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jean Sebastien Blais (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Heath Legg (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Blais comes into the arena with Metallica - One blaring out of the sound system. Legg has chosen Angel of Death as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Jean Sebastien Blais has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

6 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jean Sebastien Blais! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Heath Legg! The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Damien Edna and Summer Carpenter.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Legg blocks a head kick by Blais.
Blais misses with a looping right. Legg throws a low kick but it's checked well by Blais. Blais takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Legg shoots in for a takedown but Blais shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Blais looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Blais stays in close to Legg's body and controls the position. Blais trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Legg being controlled here, momentarily. Blais stopping the sweep attempt from Legg.
That's one minute gone in the round. Blais sitting in guard here, content to control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Blais tries to free his leg and advance position but Legg is retaining full guard. Legg is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Legg keeping moving, preventing Blais from controlling successfully.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Legg throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Blais. Blais jabbing away but nothing is landing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Legg ducks under a wild hook from Blais. The fight stays on the outside here - Legg looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Blais throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Blais has a takedown stuffed. A combination from Blais does no damage. Ouch! a nice leg kick from Blais, right into the meat.
Blais circles away from the clinch attempt.
Legg misses with a head kick.

and Blais counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Legg is lucky that one didn't land flush.

and Legg counters with a thumping low kick. Legg throws a nice head kick!
Blais scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Blais trying to control the position but Legg is working away. Legg tries to bench press Blais off him but Blais keeps the position. Blais is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Legg knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Legg can't do much from the bottom here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Legg looks to move to half guard but instead Blais has passed into mount! Damn! Blais looking to control but Legg is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Legg is in all sorts of trouble here.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Blais trying to control but Legg is having none of it. Blais swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Legg is now in Blais's guard. A big mistake from Blais there, giving up the dominant position! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jean Sebastien Blais dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Blais closes this distance looking for a takedown but Legg circles away. Legg throws a leg kick but Blais sees it coming and moves out of range. Legg looks to clinch and Blais counters with a takedown into side control. Legg is looking to regain half guard here but Blais keeps moving and retains side control. Legg stops Blais from passing to mount. Blais advances to mount. Legg is trying to escape the mount.
That's one minute gone in the round. Blais avoids the attempt from Legg to control. Blais content just to control the position here. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Blais lands a big shot there that rocks Legg but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Blais is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Legg has managed to escape the submission attempt.

That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Blais is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Legg to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Legg shrugs it off. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Legg is in all sorts of trouble here.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Legg in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. Legg working to try and regain half guard.
Blais content just to control the position here. Blais working for a submission but Legg is keeping him at bay. Legg has worked his way to half guard, taking advantage of Blais's lack of action.
Blais is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Legg doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Blais.

Blais looking for a submission but Legg manages to get full guard, putting an end to that submission attempt.
Blais wants to control from the top but Legg keeps moving. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Legg controls Blais momentarily but Blais frees himself. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jean Sebastien Blais dominated that second round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
Legg tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Blais counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Legg thinking. Blais throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Legg sees it coming and avoids it easily. Blais throws a right and a left that Legg avoids nicely. Legg tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. A low kick from Blais is predictable there and Legg makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. Legg moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. The fight stays on the outside here - Legg looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Legg checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
That's one minute gone in the round. Blais will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Nice takedown defense from Blais. No joy for Legg on that attempt. Jean Sebastien Blais is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Blais paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Legg blocks a leg kick. The fighters circling - Blais throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Legg misses with a takedown and Blais counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

Blais lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Legg is not content to let Blais control the position. Legg is defending against the submission attempts here by Blais.
Both fighters are breathing heavily. Blais keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Blais is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Legg has managed to free his arm - good work. Legg is trying to get back to full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Legg moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Blais sitting in guard here, content to control. Blais pushes down on Legg's leg and manages to get into half guard. Blais tries to pass the half guard into mount. Legg knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Blais is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Legg is just riding it out for now. Blais eventually gives up the hold. Heath Legg has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Blais wants to free his trapped foot but Legg is holding on for dear life with his legs. Blais missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. The fighters are battling for position here. Legg manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Blais tries to free his leg and advance position but Legg is retaining full guard. Blais might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Blais preventing the sweep.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. A head kick by Legg misses and Blais counters with a single leg into guard. Legg didn't expect that.
And that's the end of the fight! Jean Sebastien Blais showed his dominance in that final round. Well Blais has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
