Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Karlmann Friedhelm (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vlaimir Cuschenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cuschenko has chosen T.A.T.U - Prostye Dvizhen'ya as his entrance music. This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Karlmann Friedhelm!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Vlaimir Cuschenko!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Robert Douchet and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cuschenko fails in his attempt to clinch.
Cuschenko leaves Friedhelm with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Friedhelm shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Cuschenko is not content to let Friedhelm control the position.
Friedhelm trying to pass the guard but Cuschenko defending well.

Friedhelm is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Cuschenko defends it well.
Cuschenko is staying active underneath Friedhelm, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Friedhelm is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Cuschenko has managed to free his arm - good work.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Cuschenko is looking for a sweep. Friedhelm is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Friedhelm is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Friedhelm is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Friedhelm tries to pass the half guard into mount. Cuschenko knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Friedhelm is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

Friedhelm frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Friedhelm can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Cuschenko is looking to escape.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Cuschenko is looking to get to half guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Friedhelm thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!

Friedhelm is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Cuschenko is surviving well by controlling Friedhelm's body position as best he can.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Karlmann Friedhelm dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Friedhelm tries for a takedown but Cuschenko sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Friedhelm.

Cuschenko fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Friedhelm sprawls well initially but Cuschenko persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Friedhelm tries to roll over but Cuschenko keeps him under control.

Cuschenko is looking for a kimura but Friedhelm is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Cuschenko to get the leverage.
Cuschenko is just content to waste time from the top position. Friedhelm takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Friedhelm will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Cuschenko working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Cuschenko throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Friedhelm works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Cuschenko throws a strike but Friedhelm rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Friedhelm is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Cuschenko is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Friedhelm drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Cuschenko dives on top into guard.

Cuschenko has gone for a leg lock! Friedhelm slips out almost immediately though and dives into Cuschenko's guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Friedhelm wants to control from the top but Cuschenko keeps moving.
Friedhelm throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Friedhelm stands and throws Cuschenko's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Cuschenko is not content to let Friedhelm control the position.
Cuschenko is looking to reverse the position.

Friedhelm thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Friedhelm cracks Cuschenko with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Friedhelm working the ground and pound but Cuschenko is defending the strikes.
Cuschenko manages to get back to half guard.
Friedhelm wants to take a breather but Cuschenko is having none of it.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Friedhelm works his way into full mount!

Friedhelm swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Cuschenko is now in Friedhelm's guard. A big mistake from Friedhelm there, giving up the dominant position!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Karlmann Friedhelm will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Friedhelm, as that shot connected.

Cuschenko feints and as Friedhelm raises his hands in defense, Cuschenko changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Cuschenko with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

Friedhelm working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Cuschenko doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Cuschenko manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Cuschenko is working Friedhelm over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Friedhelm is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Cuschenko defends well.

Cuschenko lands a couple of elbows.
Friedhelm keeping moving, preventing Cuschenko from controlling successfully.

Cuschenko drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Friedhelm manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Cuschenko has Friedhelm in his guard.

Friedhelm is looking to work some ground and pound but Cuschenko has wrist control.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Friedhelm pushes down on Cuschenko's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Friedhelm is looking to advance position but Cuschenko won't allow it.
Friedhelm wants to control but Cuschenko is keeping him busy.

Friedhelm is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Cuschenko sees it coming and defends easily.
Friedhelm throws a strike but Cuschenko avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
Friedhelm trying to control but Cuschenko is working from the bottom.
Karlmann Friedhelm is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Cuschenko looking for a sweep. Not yet Cuschenko, not yet.

I would just about give that final round to Vlaimir Cuschenko.
Well Friedhelm has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
