Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bas Rutten (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alexander Petzel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rutten comes into the arena with You Better Pray blaring out of the sound system. Bas Rutten has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Bas Rutten! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Alexander Petzel! The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rutten has closed the distance and engaged Petzel in a clinch.
Rutten lands a nice elbow from the clinch.
It looks like Alexander Petzel has been cut. Petzel fails to pull guard.
Rutten using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Petzel has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Petzel can't find room to land a body shot as Rutten controls the action.

Rutten is pressed up against the cage. Petzel has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Rutten down to the mat. Rutten avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Rutten keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Bas Rutten has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alexander Petzel. Rutten gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Petzel counters by clinching up. Petzel looking to slow down the pace here. Petzel has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Rutten is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Rutten breaks the clinch.
Bas Rutten seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Rutten tries to clinch up and Petzel counters with a single leg into guard. Rutten didn't expect that. Petzel is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Rutten is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Rutten has escaped and now he's on top!
That's one minute gone in the round. Rutten wants to stand but Petzel is controlling his posture from full guard. Petzel is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Petzel pushes a forearm under Rutten's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Rutten is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
