Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Rufus Hitzlspergher! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
18 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Shinwi Bolo! The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Hirohito Nitta.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hitzlspergher swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Hitzlspergher stuns Bolo with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Hitzlspergher tries to clinch up but Bolo circles away and keeps his distance. Rufus Hitzlspergher seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Hitzlspergher is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Bolo keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Hitzlspergher misses with a wild body shot. Bolo with a hook. Bolo misses with a hook. Hitzlspergher misses the jab. Bolo closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Hitzlspergher to the mat! Hitzlspergher manages to get full guard. Hitzlspergher manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Bolo wants to hold on but Hitzlspergher pushes him away. Hitzlspergher working Bolo over with strikes here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bolo working to try and regain half guard.
Hitzlspergher landing shots from mount. Bolo keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Hitzlspergher has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Hitzlspergher looking to secure an arm triangle but Bolo defends it well. Hitzlspergher wants to finish this one by submission but Bolo is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Hitzlspergher. Hitzlspergher looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. Bolo really wants to buck Hitzlspergher off and get back to his feet. Bolo is looking to get to half guard. Hitzlspergher trying to control but he's not successful this time. Hitzlspergher throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bolo wants to hold on but Hitzlspergher pushes him away. Bolo is looking to get to half guard. Bolo tries to lock up and control but Hitzlspergher gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Hitzlspergher dominating with strikes here. Bolo is squirming around, avoiding Hitzlspergher's attempts to control the action. Bolo is looking to get to half guard. Hitzlspergher landing strikes from the mount. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Bolo is looking to get to half guard. Hitzlspergher is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Bolo can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Bolo tries to lock up and control but Hitzlspergher gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Hitzlspergher lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. Hitzlspergher fails to take his opponent's back. Hitzlspergher postures up and connects with a big shot that has rocked Bolo badly. He's trying desperately to grab hold of Hitzlspergher around the waist but Hitzlspergher pushes him off and unloads with more strikes, forcing the referee to jump in and save him! Hitzlspergher is the winner by TKO! Hitzlspergher jumps onto the ropes and shouts into the camera. "We did it momma!"
