The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hayanusa has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Martin.
Hayanusa has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Hayanusa there as he acknowledges the shot.

It looks like Minato Hayanusa has been cut.

Martin wants to get back to his feet but Hayanusa is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Martin wants to stand up but Hayanusa is controlling him.

Hayanusa drops back looking for a leg! Martin is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Martin manages to kick Hayanusa off! Hayanusa jumps back into Martin's guard.
Martin really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hayanusa. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Hayanusa wants to stand but Martin is controlling his posture from full guard.
Hayanusa is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Martin scrambles and gets back to his feet.

Hayanusa shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Martin manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Martin wants to stand and escape but Hayanusa is having none of it.

Hayanusa drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Martin dives on top into guard.
Hayanusa is breathing heavily.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Hayanusa is looking for a triangle but Martin pushes his legs off easily.

Martin stands and steps away. Hayanusa gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Martin lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Martin.

Hayanusa looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Martin with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Hayanusa wants to lay and pray for a moment but Martin keeps working.
Martin tries to kick Hayanusa off but Hayanusa keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Hayanusa is taking a breather. Martin says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Hayanusa stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Martin to get to his feet.
