Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Robert John (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Esta me Dinero (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Robert John!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Esta me Dinero!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Eliza Hachem and Hugh Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dinero shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts John as he jumps to the side.
John avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
John lands a nice leg kick that just misses Dinero's sensitive parts.
A looping hook to the body misses from Dinero. John does a little dance to reset his feet.
John avoids the head kick by Dinero.
Dinero throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.

Excellent takedown into side control there by John.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Dinero is looking to regain half guard here but John keeps moving and retains side control.

Dinero wants to get back to his feet but John drags him back down.
John really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

John throws an elbow but Dinero slips to the side and avoids it well.
John knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Dinero on the ground.

Dinero is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but John has just dragged him back down to the mat.

John decides to stand up, so the ref orders Dinero to his feet.

John looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
John connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Dinero doesn't manage to clinch there - John circles away.
Dinero swats away the attempt to clinch by John.

and John counters with a single leg into guard. Dinero didn't expect that.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Esta me Dinero hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

and John counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Robert John has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Esta me Dinero.
John tries to clinch but Dinero is having none of it.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
John gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Dinero counters with a straight right hand.
John fails to land the takedown.
John will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Dinero shoots in but John avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Dinero digs a good hook to John's body.
Dinero throws a nice looking combination but John bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Dinero gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Dinero gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
John keeping moving, preventing Dinero from controlling successfully.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! John's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


John leaves Dinero with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
John stuffs the takedown attempt from Dinero. Dinero gets slowly back to his feet.
Dinero tries to clinch up but John circles away and keeps his distance.
Robert John is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Dinero displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from John.
Horrible takedown by John or perhaps it was just good defense by Dinero which made him look bad.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dinero cracks the inside of John's front leg.

and John counters with a shoot takedown. Dinero fights it but they end up in guard.

John stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Dinero swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Dinero has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but John has passed into side control.

John is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Dinero has escaped the position, nice work there.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Dinero manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Dinero tries to stand but can't do so whilst John controls his leg.
John is looking for a sweep. Dinero is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
John tries to kick Dinero off but Dinero keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Dinero looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
John wants to control but Dinero is keeping busy and won't allow it.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Esta me Dinero hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Dinero throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around John's waist but John gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Dinero off to one side.

and Dinero counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Dinero.

John not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
John is pulling down on Dinero's head. It's preventing any offense from Dinero, at least for the moment.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
John scores with a kick to the body.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Esta me Dinero will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!



Dinero drives through and clinches with John against the cage.
Dinero wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but John has him pressed against the cage.
Dinero wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Dinero has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Dinero has clasped his hands together around John's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
John is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
John is not content to let Dinero control the position.
Robert John overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
The ground and pound from Dinero seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

John tries to improve position but can't.
Dinero is looking to take a break and control but John is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
John tries to escape but Dinero is in control.
Dinero gets to mount! John was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.
Dinero throws some wild stikes that John manages to avoid easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
John is squirming around, avoiding Dinero's attempts to control the action.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Dinero can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as John is looking to escape.
Dinero connects with a couple of good shots from mount.

Dinero looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Dinero throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for John because Dinero loaded up on that one.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Dinero looking to control but John is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
John sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
John tries to roll over but Dinero keeps him under control.
John is trying to maintain the position but Dinero is very close to passing his half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Dinero is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. John doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Dinero.
Dinero seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but John does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

And that's the end of the fight!
Esta me Dinero comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Dinero has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
