Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Earl Jacobs! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Chuck Pain! The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Yukihiro Yamamoto.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jacobs closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Pain did well to prevent Jacobs getting side control. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Pain can do anything to dispel that myth. Jacobs looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Pain with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Jacobs looks to land a strike but Pain avoids it nicely and regains full guard. Jacobs throwing strikes from guard but Pain blocks nicely. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Jacobs with a flurry of punches that miss. Jacobs throwing strikes from guard but Pain blocks nicely. Jacobs trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Jacobs throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Jacobs stands up over Pain, holding his feet. Pain really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jacobs. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Pain closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Pain lands an elbow inside. Pain drops Jacobs with a big knee straight up the middle! Jacobs is covering up against the cage but manages to escape and gets back to his feet!
It looks like Earl Jacobs has been cut. Pain has closed the distance and engaged Jacobs in a clinch.
Jacobs drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Pain gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Jacobs is rocked! Pain has Jacobs pressed against the cage. He pushes Jacobs back and as he springs towards him off the cage, Pain throws a beautiful elbow that sends Jacobs crashing to the floor! Pain piles on the pressure with more strikes! Jacobs is flailing away but he's not defending himself and the referee steps in to stop the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:50 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Chuck Pain!
