Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between August Spies (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bob Chong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Spies comes to the cage accompanied by Great Cop by Fugazi. Chong comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Get Down On The Ground kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, August Spies! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
13 - 13 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Bob Chong! The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Valeri Chadov and Illya Tyunina.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Spies throws a sloppy head kick and Chong moves out of range easily. Spies is looking to clinch. Spies is looking to clinch but Chong is avoiding it.
Chong misses with a wild body shot. Spies rushes Chong and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Spies stalling the fight.
A hook to the body from Chong.
Chong jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Spies walks away with a smile on his face. Chong gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Chong lands with an uppercut that bounces Spies off the cage and back into rage. Chong fails to land with a series of punches.
Chong stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Spies. Spies pivots, looking for a leg kick but Chong is out of range and Spies settles back down. Spies gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Spies tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Chong ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Spies moves away. Chong avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Chong wants to sweep but no luck. Chong manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Spies manages to get himself to full guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Chong looking to pass the guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Chong stands and throws Spies's legs to the side, diving into side control. Chong working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Chong tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Chong has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Spies is trying to get back to half guard. Chong is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Spies is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Chong has an Americana. Spies didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Chong is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Chong hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Bob Chong!
