Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Ben Brawn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Phillipe Render (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
9 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ben Brawn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Phillipe Render!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Stewart Dunkirk and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brawn looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Brawn with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Brawn changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Render tries to avoid it but Brawn manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Render to the ground. Render escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Brawn shoots for a takedown but Render saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ben Brawn. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Brawn decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Render is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Render can do anything to dispel that myth.
Brawn wants to take a breather but Render is having none of it.

Render might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Brawn kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Brawn slips a nice elbow through Render's hands, connecting with Render's forehead.
Brawn looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Render with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
The fight stays on the outside here - Render looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Brawn changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Render looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Render is working to avoid the ground and pound but Brawn connects with a decent elbow.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Render takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Ben Brawn overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Brawn lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Brawn is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Render can do to turn this around?

Brawn has hold of Render's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Render tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Brawn cranks the arm and Render screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Render, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
