Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between George Chavalo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Calico James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, George Chavalo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Calico James!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Chris Downing and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chavalo thuds his right hand into James's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Chavalo is looking to score with low kicks.
James bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
James misses with an uppercut. Chavalo saw that one coming.
Chavalo stuffs the takedown.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Chavalo throws the left hand but James avoids the punch easily.
James closes this distance looking for a takedown but Chavalo circles away.

That's one minute gone in the round.
James misses with a hook.
Chavalo tries to clinch up.
George Chavalo is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
James misses with a body shot.
Chavalo gets cracked with a nice right hand there by James.
James scores with a nice head shot.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
James tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Chavalo was well out of range. Poor timing from James.
James displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Chavalo throws out the jab.
James moves out of range of the body kick from Chavalo.
James thows a body shot but no joy.
Chavalo takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Chavalo is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.

James throws a right and a left that both miss.
Horrible takedown by James or perhaps it was just good defense by Chavalo which made him look bad.
George Chavalo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Calico James.
James wants to clinch
and Chavalo cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
James closes the distance looking to clinch
and Chavalo counters with a nice kick to the body.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Chavalo blocks a jab.
Chavalo lands with an overhand left.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Chavalo.
Calico James seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
James misses with a takedown
enabling Chavalo to counter with a crisp jab.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

George Chavalo dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Chavalo tries to sprawl but James drives through with a takedown into half guard.
James is looking to advance position but Chavalo won't allow it.
James seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Chavalo does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
James is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

Chavalo is trying to control but can't.

James looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Calico James was stalling too much, according to the referee.
James shoots and misses
and Chavalo counters with a solid body kick.
A telegraphed right hand from James misses the target.
James scores with a hook to the body. Chavalo takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Chavalo misses with a hook.
Chavalo slips under a jab.

Chavalo tries a head kick but it misses.
James loads up on a big right hand but Chavalo slips the punch.
James misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Chavalo counters with a nice body kick.
Chavalo throws a looping overhand right but James ducks down to avoid it.
James misses with a body punch

and Chavalo counters by clinching up.

Chavalo avoiding damage.
James stalling against the cage.
James trying to stall but Chavalo improves his position.
Chavalo misses with a hook from the clinch.
Chavalo stalling the fight.
James is trying to maintain a safe position but Chavalo gets an underhook and turns James into the cage.
Chavalo misses with a short punch on the inside.
The referee calls for Chavalo to work.
Chavalo working aggressively here.
Chavalo has James pushed against the cage.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Chavalo misses with a short punch on the inside.
Chavalo misses with a hook from the clinch.
Chavalo is struggling to control the position.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
Chavalo swings wildly with an uppercut but James uses good head movement to avoid it.
Chavalo scores with a shot to the side of James's head.
James blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Chavalo scores with a shot to the side of James's head.
James is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Chavalo pushes James back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Chavalo misses with a punch on the inside.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Chavalo scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Chavalo lands a right hand that snaps the head of James backwards.
Chavalo scores with a shot to the side of James's head.
Chavalo lands a left hand.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that George Chavalo will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


James misses the body punch
and Chavalo connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
James throws a body punch but Chavalo moves out of range.
Chavalo throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
James paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
James throws a lazy right hand but Chavalo sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
James throws a sloppy body shot
and Chavalo makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

That's one minute gone in the round.
James fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Chavalo fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Chavalo takes one to the chin there.
A decent looking cross lands there for Chavalo.
Calico James has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Chavalo wants to land a leg kick but James is out of range.
Chavalo takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
James dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
James tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Chavalo paws at him with a jab and circles away.
James closes the distance and clinches up with Chavalo, looking for a takedown. James pushes Chavalo against the cage but Chavalo circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
James misses with a hook.
James scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
James misses the jab.
James misses the jab.
James misses with an uppercut.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Chavalo avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
James doesn't manage to clinch there - Chavalo circles away.
Chavalo uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from James.
James looks to land a right hand but Chavalo moved out of range.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
James misses with a body shot.

And that's the end of the fight!
Calico James comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Chavalo has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
