11 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Brian Peppers! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sir Didymus! The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Seu Braga and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Peppers throws a sloppy head kick and Didymus moves out of range easily. Peppers throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Didymus's head. Decent striking displayed by Didymus there. Didymus missing with a left hand there. Peppers was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Didymus doesn't manage to clinch there - Peppers circles away.

Didymus wants to pass the guard but Peppers is keeping the position. Peppers utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Didymus with a flurry of punches that miss. Didymus throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Didymus trying to move into half guard but instead Peppers has managed to sweep! Peppers got a little sloppy there for a moment and Didymus has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Peppers has managed to get both his arms back between Didymus's legs - danger averted.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Peppers prevents Didymus from improving his position. Peppers wants to stand up but Didymus has a hold of him and won't allow it. Didymus makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Didymus. Didymus has a closed guard, preventing Peppers from standing up.

That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Didymus is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Didymus preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Didymus has a closed guard, preventing Peppers from standing up. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. A nice leg kick lands there from Peppers. A slow jab from Peppers misses its intended target. Peppers is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Didymus. A jab from Didymus misses.
