Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 7 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Reilly Bell! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Mauri Pekkarinen! The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Igor Prikhodko and Dmitry Maklakov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bell misses with a two punch combination.
Pekkarinen swings for the body but Bell moves out of range.
Pekkarinen throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Excellent takedown into side control there by Pekkarinen. Bell looks to move to half guard but instead Pekkarinen has passed into mount! Damn! Bell is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
Pekkarinen looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Bell tries to hold on but Pekkarinen pushes him away. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Pekkarinen controlling the pace for now. Bell is trying desperately to improve position. Pekkarinen lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bell wants to control but Pekkarinen is having none of it. Pekkarinen blocks Bell's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom. Bell can't escape the position.
Pekkarinen is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Bell can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Bell tries to lock up and control but Pekkarinen gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Pekkarinen landing strikes from the mount. Bell can't escape the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Bell manages to regain half guard. Good work. Pekkarinen throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Pekkarinen trying to control the pace. Bell looks like he's trying to stand up.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Pekkarinen is thwarting Bell's attempts to control the position.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Bell avoids a punch combination nicely.
Pekkarinen closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Pekkarinen manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Pekkarinen has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Bell clear over his head and slammed him to the mat! Pekkarinen connects with a big shot to the side of Bell's head.
Pekkarinen controls the position. Bell tries to escape the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Mauri Pekkarinen dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action!
A combination from Pekkarinen does no damage. Pekkarinen is looking to clinch. The fight moves into the clinch position. Pekkarinen wants a takedown but no success here.
Bell tries to land a knee to the head but Pekkarinen blocks with his arms.
Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Pekkarinen. Pekkarinen gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Bell regains guard.
Pekkarinen controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Bell is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Pekkarinen wants to control from the top but Bell keeps moving. Bell looking for a guillotine here but Pekkarinen defends easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pekkarinen advances to half guard. Pekkarinen takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Pekkarinen trying to control from Bell's half guard. Bell has other ideas though and has regained full guard. Pekkarinen showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bell is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Bell working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Pekkarinen. Bell keeping moving, preventing Pekkarinen from controlling successfully. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Mauri Pekkarinen was stalling too much, according to the referee. Pekkarinen moves into the clinch. Pekkarinen stalls. Pekkarinen lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Bell backwards.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pekkarinen's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. Bell tries for a takedown. No joy.
Pekkarinen digs a right hand into Bell's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Bell's gas tank. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Pekkarinen drops down looking for an ankle pick but Bell pulls his leg out and moves away.
Bell misses with a few strikes there.
Pekkarinen swinging wildly here.
Pekkarinen scores with a jab to the head.
Pekkarinen lands a jab to Bell's midsection. Pekkarinen looks to land a right hand but Bell moved out of range. Bell misses with a takedown and Pekkarinen counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Pekkarinen winds up and cracks Bell with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Bell makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work! Pekkarinen looking for a takedown here - he's got it. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Pekkarinen lands a couple of elbows. Pekkarinen is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Pekkarinen's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Bell doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Pekkarinen content to stall in guard here. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Mauri Pekkarinen showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Pekkarinen shoots in and gets a takedown into Bell's guard. Pekkarinen trying to control the position from guard on top but Bell is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Pekkarinen scoring with some ground and pound. Bell looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Pekkarinen puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. Mauri Pekkarinen has got the better of the ground game so far. Pekkarinen scoring with strikes to the body and head. Bell taking some punishment here, with Pekkarinen in his half guard. Bell controlling the position for now. Bell wants to control but Pekkarinen is keeping busy and won't allow it. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bell tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Pekkarinen has advanced to mount. Uh oh. Bell tries to hold on but Pekkarinen pushes him away. BOOM! Pekkarinen connects with a massive shot to the dome!

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Bell is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Pekkarinen breaks from Bell's wrist control and lands an elbow. A nice elbow there by Pekkarinen. Pekkarinen working away from the top, dropping strikes. Pekkarinen tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Pekkarinen landing punches. Pekkarinen takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Bell is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bell is desperately trying to improve his position but Pekkarinen has a good base and remains in mount. A nice elbow there by Pekkarinen. Bell wants to hold on but Pekkarinen pushes him away. BOOM! Pekkarinen connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Bell takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Pekkarinen sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Pekkarinen looking to finish Bell with some ground and pound. This is bad for Bell!
Bell is rocked! Pekkarinen postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Bell in real trouble here! The ref calls for Bell to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:01 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mauri Pekkarinen!
