The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Viktor Lagutenko and Vladimir Khabensky.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Saint Randy tests Baptiste's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Saint Randy tries to score a power double leg takedown but Baptiste sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Saint Randy somewhat.
Saint Randy throws a series of punches but Baptiste avoids them all with ease.
Jean Baptiste seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Baptiste closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Baptiste looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Baptiste cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Baptiste looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Baptiste is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Saint Randy can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Baptiste lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Baptiste with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Baptiste has control of Saint Randy's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Saint Randy regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Saint Randy wants to hold on but Baptiste pushes him away.

Baptiste avoids the attempt from Saint Randy to control.

Baptiste is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Saint Randy is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Saint Randy wants to hold on but Baptiste pushes him away.
Baptiste is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Saint Randy is surviving well by controlling Baptiste's body position as best he can.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Saint Randy gets caught flat footed, as Baptiste shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Baptiste lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Baptiste with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Saint Randy throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Baptiste working some strikes from top position.
Baptiste wants to control from the top but Saint Randy keeps moving.
Baptiste got a little sloppy there for a moment and Saint Randy has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Baptiste has managed to get both his arms back between Saint Randy's legs - danger averted.

Baptiste wants to pass the guard but Saint Randy is defending well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Saint Randy has hold of Baptiste's hands but Baptiste slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Baptiste is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Baptiste in particular looking to stall.
Saint Randy is looking to escape.
Baptiste lands strikes from half guard.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Baptiste connects with a nice short shot to Saint Randy's temple.

Baptiste working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Saint Randy looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Baptiste! Submission of the night perhaps?
