Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ross Potter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Davel Klatzen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Davel Klatzen is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Klatzen throws a head kick but Potter moves out of range.
Potter swats away the attempt to clinch by Klatzen.

Klatzen rushes Potter and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
A short body shot lands from Klatzen as the two fighters clinch.
Potter trying to stall but Klatzen improves his position.
Potter tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Klatzen just stands there and leans against the cage.
Klatzen tries to break free but Potter pushes him back against the cage.
Klatzen lands a body shot.
Potter tries to pull guard but Klatzen holds him up against the cage and eventually Potter drops back down to his feet.
Klatzen connects with a knee to the head.
Klatzen wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Potter has him pressed against the cage.
Klatzen is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Klatzen digs a right hand underneath Potter's ribcage. Potter let out a lung full of air as it connected.
Klatzen lands a nice shot to the body.
Klatzen using the Thai clinch to land knees to the body.

Klatzen lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Klatzen breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Klatzen is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Horrible takedown by Potter or perhaps it was just good defense by Klatzen which made him look bad.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ross Potter. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Potter is breathing heavily.

Klatzen moves in looking to clinch but Potter pushes him off.
Klatzen lands a nice looking body kick.
Klatzen tries to clinch but Potter moves out of range.
Potter shoots in looking for a takedown. Klatzen tries to sprawl out of it but Potter keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Klatzen manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Klatzen fails in his attempt to clinch.
Klatzen is looking to slow Potter down with leg kicks.
Klatzen moves in looking to clinch but Potter pushes him off.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Klatzen lands a right hand.
Potter could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Klatzen connects with a nasty looking knee right to Potter's face.
Klatzen connects with a knee to the head.
Klatzen has Potter pressed against the cage, preventing Potter from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Potter struggles to land a body shot inside as Klatzen controls his hands.

Klatzen breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Klatzen tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Nice takedown defense from Klatzen. No joy for Potter on that attempt.
Potter swats away the attempt to clinch by Klatzen.
Klatzen tries to clinch but Potter moves out of range.
Klatzen works over Potter's head and body with a nice combination.

Klatzen takes the fight into the clinch.
Potter tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Klatzen just stands there and leans against the cage.

Potter looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Potter tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Potter jumps guard but Klatzen stands there with Potter around his waist. Potter gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Klatzen escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Klatzen tries to close the distance and clinch up but Potter swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Klatzen has managed to clinch.
Klatzen is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body.
Klatzen unloads a knee to the mid-section. Potter lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.
Klatzen creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Potter's defenses.

Klatzen's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Klatzen pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Klatzen lands a front kick.
Klatzen scores with a one two! Potter had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Potter shoots in but Klatzen avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Potter circles away from the clinch attempt.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Potter has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Klatzen.
Klatzen lands with a shot to the body.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Klatzen breaks from the clinch.
Klatzen goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Klatzen misses with a wild combination.
Klatzen throws a head kick that Potter semi-blocks.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Klatzen has taken the fight to the clinch.
Potter tries to pull guard but Klatzen won't allow it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Davel Klatzen dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Klatzen throws a right hand that Potter ducks under and follows up with a left that Potter also avoids with ease.
Potter changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Klatzen tries to avoid it but Potter manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Klatzen to the ground. Klatzen escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Klatzen tries to clinch there but Potter circles away.
Potter avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Potter walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

Klatzen takes the fight into the clinch.
A right handed body shot lands from Klatzen.
Klatzen works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Klatzen connects with a knee to the head.
Klatzen lands an elbow inside.
Good body shot from Klatzen.
Klatzen lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Klatzen lands a body punch.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Potter drags the fight down to the ground.

Potter is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Potter manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Klatzen squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
Potter takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Potter has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Potter working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Klatzen turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Potter off and cradles Klatzen's limp body as Potter celebrates with his corner.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:20 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Ross Potter!
