Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ryan Rabago! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Johnny Bravo! The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Stewart Dunkirk and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rabago takes a swing at Bravo's ribcage but misses. Bravo shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Bravo throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Bravo wants to work for an arm triangle but Rabago is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Rabago blocking the ground and pound attempt from Bravo. Bravo passes to side control. Rabago wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! Bravo in side control, throwing shots but Rabago defends. Bravo trying to control the position but Rabago is working away. Bravo has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Bravo looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Rabago is avoiding damage well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rabago is trying to buck Bravo off. The referee asks Bravo politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Bravo prefers to stall for the moment though. Bravo trying to control the action but Rabago is working from the bottom. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Bravo tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. Bravo tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Rabago knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Bravo on the ground. Bravo wants to lay and pray for a moment but Rabago keeps working. Bravo in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Rabago is tapping! That's the end of the fight!
