Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Wally Lewis! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ted Banks! The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Robert Twigg and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Banks gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
It looks like Ted Banks has been cut. Lewis lands a jab to Banks's midsection. Lewis throws a big shot that misses. Lewis throws a hook to the side of Banks's head but Banks sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Lewis waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Banks. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Banks avoids a low kick by using good footwork. Lewis throws a shot from downtown. Banks moves away and avoids it. Banks avoids a punch combination nicely.

Banks sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Lewis is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Lewis on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Lewis tries to get out of the position. Banks creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Lewis sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. What's Lewis going to do here then? He's in a bit of a pickle.

Wally Lewis dominated that round. The cut man is working on Ted Banks's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Lewis catches Banks with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Banks blocks a jab. Banks on the wrong end of a nice jab. Banks moves forwards but Lewis connects with a nice, crisp jab. Lewis lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Banks takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Banks is rocked! This has been an exciting period of action! Banks defending well as Lewis loads up on a big left hand. Lewis drops Banks with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Banks looks back up at him and smiles so Lewis waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Banks is still on wobbly legs! Can Lewis finish him? Banks is trying hard to land a takedown here. Lewis sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Banks avoids a punch combination nicely.
Banks seems to have recovered his senses. Lewis throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Banks uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Lewis.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lewis uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Lewis throws a big shot that misses. Lewis lands with a nice body punch. Lewis takes a swing at Banks's ribcage but misses. Lewis lands a nice hook to Banks's body. Banks takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Banks is breathing heavily. Lewis misses with a hook. Banks ducked under it nicely. Banks on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Banks gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Lewis. Banks bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Lewis lands with a nice body punch. Lewis lands a jab. Wally Lewis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A slow jab from Lewis misses its intended target. Lewis lands a left and a right that send Banks crashing to the mat, dazed. Lewis thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet! Lewis throws out a loose jab but Banks uses good head movement to avoid it. Banks fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Wally Lewis has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ted Banks. A telegraphed right hand from Lewis misses the target. Banks on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Banks bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Lewis cracks Banks with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. Lewis is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Banks can do to turn this around? Lewis misses the jab. And that's the end of the fight! Wally Lewis showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Lewis, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
