Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Andrei Arlovskii! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Anton Gorodetskiy! The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Viktor Lagutenko and Dmitry Maklakov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gorodetskiy shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Arlovskii manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Arlovskii looking to hit a scissor sweep but Gorodetskiy is one step ahead there. Arlovskii will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Arlovskii is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Gorodetskiy trying to control the position from guard on top but Arlovskii is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Arlovskii is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Arlovskii wants to sweep but no luck. Gorodetskiy postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Arlovskii is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Gorodetskiy, into his guard. Gorodetskiy is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Arlovskii defends well. Arlovskii has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
That's one minute gone in the round. Arlovskii got a little sloppy there for a moment and Gorodetskiy has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Arlovskii has managed to get both his arms back between Gorodetskiy's legs - danger averted. Arlovskii looking to pass the guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Gorodetskiy has a closed guard, preventing Arlovskii from standing up. Gorodetskiy escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Arlovskii gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Gorodetskiy looks gassed! Gorodetskiy controls Arlovskii momentarily but Arlovskii frees himself.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Arlovskii loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Gorodetskiy uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Gorodetskiy fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Arlovskii avoids it really well and circles away. Arlovskii fails with the takedown and Gorodetskiy counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Arlovskii tries to land a sweep but no joy. Gorodetskiy throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Arlovskii managing to control the position.

We're going to have a standup here because Andrei Arlovskii wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Arlovskii takes the fight into the clinch. Arlovskii breaks the clinch.
Arlovskii works Gorodetskiy's body with a nice hook. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Gorodetskiy gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Arlovskii to score an easy takedown into full guard. Arlovskii wanted to stand there but Gorodetskiy had control of the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Anton Gorodetskiy dominated that round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Gorodetskiy gets caught flat footed, as Arlovskii shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Arlovskii wants to stand but Gorodetskiy has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Gorodetskiy throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Arlovskii escapes and throws Gorodetskiy's legs to the side, diving into side control! Arlovskii taking a breather here. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Arlovskii's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
That's one minute gone in the round. Arlovskii landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. Gorodetskiy is trying to control Arlovskii's posture but Arlovskii avoids it. Arlovskii throws an elbow but Gorodetskiy slips to the side and avoids it well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Arlovskii working the body and head with strikes. Gorodetskiy regains half guard there - taking advantage of Arlovskii's attempt to lay and pray for a moment. Arlovskii is keen to just control but Gorodetskiy is a slippery customer. Gorodetskiy is trying to get back to full guard. Arlovskii knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Gorodetskiy on the ground. Arlovskii is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Arlovskii is taking a breather. Gorodetskiy says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Arlovskii trying to control from Gorodetskiy's half guard. Gorodetskiy has other ideas though and has regained full guard. Gorodetskiy throws his legs up looking for a submission but Arlovskii uses it to pass to side control.
Arlovskii happy to just control the position for now.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Arlovskii trying to control the action but Gorodetskiy is working from the bottom. Arlovskii happy to just control the position for now. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Arlovskii decides to take the fight back to the feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Andrei Arlovskii dominated that second round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!
Gorodetskiy doesn't succeed with the takedown and Arlovskii counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Arlovskii is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Gorodetskiy looking for a kimura from the bottom but Arlovskii passes into side control! Gorodetskiy takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Gorodetskiy takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Gorodetskiy is looking to reverse the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gorodetskiy being controlled for a moment. Arlovskii stands up. Arlovskii shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Arlovskii takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Arlovskii closes the distance and pushes Gorodetskiy back into the cage. Gorodetskiy can't get the takedown.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Arlovskii's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Arlovskii closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Arlovskii lands in his opponent's guard. Gorodetskiy looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Arlovskii puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. Arlovskii looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Gorodetskiy won't allow Arlovskii to pass to mount. Arlovskii content to control rather than advance. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gorodetskiy trying to control but Arlovskii postures up.
Arlovskii looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Arlovskii not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Andrei Arlovskii just wasn't active enough. Arlovskii closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Gorodetskiy to the mat! Gorodetskiy manages to get full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Arlovskii tries to free his leg and advance position but Gorodetskiy is retaining full guard. Arlovskii slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Arlovskii is looking to work some ground and pound but Gorodetskiy has wrist control. Arlovskii trying to control the position from guard on top but Gorodetskiy is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Arlovskii looking to sit in guard and control but Gorodetskiy gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Gorodetskiy not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
And that's the end of the fight! Andrei Arlovskii showed his dominance in that final round. Well Arlovskii has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
