PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Taco Train (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dutch Schaeffer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Schaeffer has chosen All Along the Watchtower as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Taco Train!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Dutch Schaeffer!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Albert Achterberg and Radbod Blank.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Train changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Schaeffer tries to avoid it but Train manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Schaeffer to the ground. Schaeffer escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Train drives through with a takedown into guard.
Train won't allow Schaeffer to sweep him here.
Train scores with a decent looking elbow strike.

Schaeffer looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Train in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Schaeffer tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Train is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Schaeffer is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Train accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Train wants to control from the top but Schaeffer keeps moving.

Schaeffer working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Train doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Train manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Train lands a nice short elbow.

Train looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Schaeffer tries a head kick but it misses.
Train shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Schaeffer sprawls well. Schaeffer wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Train gets slowly back to his feet.
The fight stays on the outside here - Train looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Train changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Schaeffer looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Train looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Schaeffer with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Taco Train overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Schaeffer is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Schaeffer is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Train's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Train's back!
Schaeffer is trying to stick to Train's back but Train is turning into Schaeffer. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Schaeffer's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Train.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. And we move into the final round!



Schaeffer has managed to clinch.
Train goes for a takedown in the clinch but Schaeffer prevents it.

Schaeffer has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Train should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Schaeffer has tightened it up now! Train should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
