Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Mark Burk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stephen king (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mark Burk! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Stephen king! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! king throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Burk throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Burk moves into the clinch. Burk will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning king up against the cage. Burk gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. king wants to stand but Burk is controlling the position. Burk drops back, looking for a kneebar! king looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. king looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from king!
That's one minute gone in the round. Burk manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Burk trying to pass the guard but king defending well. Burk wants to lay and pray for a moment but king keeps working. Burk working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on king's thigh. king counters though and makes it back to full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. king wants to get back to his feet but Burk is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Burk is standing up over king. king looks to escape but Burk dives into side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Burk with the ground and pound but king regains half guard under the barage of strikes. king regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Burk. king wants to stand but Burk is controlling the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Burk is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! king is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! king has escaped and now he's on top! king trying to control but Burk is working from the bottom. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Burk is pulling down on king's head. It's preventing any offense from king, at least for the moment. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Mark Burk dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
king lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt. Burk slips a jab and a cross from king.
Burk shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. king manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Burk trying to control the position from guard on top but king is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's one minute gone in the round. Burk passes king's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Burk thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Burk is keen to just control but king is a slippery customer. Burk is taking a breather. king says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. king is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Burk trying to control from half guard but king is working away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Burk performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Mark Burk. Burk shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. king manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Burk trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
That's three minutes gone in the round. king wants to stand and escape but Burk is having none of it. Burk throws a big right hand that misses. king keeping full guard, as Burk tries to pass. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Burk prevents king from getting back to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Burk throws a big right hand that misses. Burk stays in close to king's body and controls the position. Burk tries to free his leg and advance position but king is retaining full guard. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. king throws a sloppy head kick and Burk moves out of range easily. king fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Mark Burk dominated that second round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

and king counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. king looks to land a combination but Burk avoids it well. Burk closes this distance looking for a takedown but king circles away. king with a hook. Burk stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from king. Burk shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches king napping and manages to drive through into side control! Burk controlling the position from side mount. Burk throws a strike aimed at the side of king's head but king avoids it well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Burk cracks king with a big elbow. Burk wants to lay and pray for a moment but king keeps working. Burk is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because king is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Burk is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but king is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. king is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Burk has just dragged him back down to the mat. Burk laying and praying for a moment but king takes advantage and regains half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Burk misses with a head shot. king uses the momentum to regain guard. Burk trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but king manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. king slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Burk is trying to get back to half guard. king trying to control the position but Burk is working away. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Mark Burk. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Burk, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
