Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ben Shamcock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Phil Aylor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ben Shamcock!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Phil Aylor!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shamcock shoots in for a double leg but Aylor sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Aylor tries to clinch up but Shamcock circles away and keeps his distance.
Shamcock looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Shamcock throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Nice body punch from Aylor.

Aylor with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.
Aylor lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Shamcock backwards.
Aylor lands a shoulder strike.
Aylor works on Shamcock's body with a couple of short punches.

Shamcock tries to score a body lock takedown but Aylor shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Shamcock is breathing heavily.
Aylor prevents Shamcock from breaking the clinch.

Aylor really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Shamcock. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Shamcock is trying to stand.
Shamcock is looking to control Aylor's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Shamcock avoid being mounted?
Shamcock tries to get to full guard but Aylor has control of the leg.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Aylor tries to clinch up

and Shamcock counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Shamcock is taking a breather. Aylor says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Shamcock thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Aylor tries to roll over but Shamcock keeps him under control.

Shamcock is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Aylor is just riding it out for now. Shamcock eventually gives up the hold.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Aylor is trying to maintain the position but Shamcock is very close to passing his half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Aylor closes the distance and clinches.
Aylor unloads a knee to the mid-section. Shamcock lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.
Shamcock digs a right hand into Aylor's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Aylor's gas tank.
Aylor tries to land a knee to the head but Shamcock blocks with his arms.

Aylor is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Shamcock asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Shamcock tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Shamcock has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Shamcock thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Shamcock sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Aylor is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Aylor can do anything to dispel that myth.

Shamcock looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Aylor is defending well. Shamcock quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Aylor has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Shamcock celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
