Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Scott Cain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and JeanPierre Kusela (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kusela comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Paradise Lost - Small Town Boy kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Scott Cain! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, JeanPierre Kusela! The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Cecil Peabody and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cain fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Kusela looks to land a right hand but Cain moved out of range. Cain misses the jab. Cain swings away with a leg kick that misses. Scott Cain seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Kusela shoots in and bounces Cain off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Cain working a defensive guard here.
Cain manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Cain controlling the pace for now. Kusela tries to reverse the position but Cain maintains control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kusela is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kusela is squirming around, avoiding Cain's attempts to control the action. Cain wants to finish this one by submission but Kusela is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Cain.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kusela is looking to get to half guard. Kusela tries to hold on but Cain pushes him away. Cain looking to secure an arm triangle but Kusela defends it well. Kusela is looking to get to half guard. Cain is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Kusela can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Kusela is trying to stand up. Cain content just to control the position here. Kusela is in all sorts of trouble here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Cain takes Kusela's back. Kusela looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment. Cain connects with a series of strikes and the referee is calling for Kusela to escape the position.
Kusela breaks Cain's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Kusela is in close to Cain's body, working some short punches and elbows. Cain escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Kusela gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Kusela wants to control from the top but Cain keeps moving. Kusela might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Cain kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Kusela is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. Kusela looking to pass the guard. Cain keeping moving, preventing Kusela from controlling successfully.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kusela trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Cain preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Kusela postures up in Cain's guard and throws a big left but Cain blocks it. Cain looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Kusela tries to free his leg and advance position but Cain is retaining full guard. Kusela stopping the sweep attempt from Cain. Cain keeping moving, preventing Kusela from controlling successfully. Cain working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Kusela doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Kusela manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Cain has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Kusela can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Cain is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Kusela is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Cain keeping moving, preventing Kusela from controlling successfully. Cain looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Kusela must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Cain keeping moving, preventing Kusela from controlling successfully. Kusela controls from within his opponent's guard. Kusela won't allow Cain to sweep him here.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. JeanPierre Kusela wasn't active enough on the ground. Cain avoids the body shot from Kusela.
A looping hook to the body misses from Cain. Kusela does a little dance to reset his feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Scott Cain dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Kusela swings for the body but Cain moves out of range.
Cain throws out a leg kick but Kusela moves out of range and Cain only half commits. Kusela tries to score a power double leg takedown but Cain sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Kusela somewhat. Kusela takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Kusela closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Kusela lands a decent elbow from side control. Kusela trying to control the action but Cain is working from the bottom. Cain is positioning himself to get back to half guard. You can see the frustration on Cain's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Cain is trying to improve his position. Kusela wants to control but Cain is keeping him busy.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kusela content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though. Kusela is looking to take a break and control but Cain is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Kusela tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Kusela has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Kusela wants to control but Cain is keeping him busy. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Cain manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Kusela wants to take a breather but Cain is having none of it. Cain is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Kusela's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Kusela's back! Kusela tries to break free.
Cain working for a choke but Kusela is defending well. Kusela wants to get back to his feet. Cain just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.
Kusela rolls, trying to escape but Cain keeps control of the position.
Cain is working for a rear naked choke. Kusela is not defending it well and Cain has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Kusela refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Kusela's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:04 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Scott Cain! Scott Cain retains his lightweight title!
