Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Jonathan Brookins!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Den Santos!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Paul Tew and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Santos misses with a double jab.

Brookins clinches with his opponent.

Brookins breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Santos misses with a body kick.
Santos tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Brookins finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.
Santos moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.


It looks like Jonathan Brookins has been cut.

and Brookins counters by moving into the clinch.
Brookins throws an elbow that misses.
Santos can't get the takedown.
Santos drops down looking for an ankle pick but Brookins pulls his leg out and moves away.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Santos lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Brookins circles away quickly and effectively.
Den Santos seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Brookins with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Santos to score with a decent uppercut.

That was a close second round but I would say that Jonathan Brookins will probably get the nod.

You get the feeling that Santos really doesn't like being in this position too much.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Brookins, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
