The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Whooston is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Kazansky wants to clinch but Whooston slips to the side and Whooston counters with a single leg into guard. Kazansky didn't expect that. Kazansky lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Whooston! Kazansky putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! Kazansky controlling from mount. Whooston is desperately trying to improve his position but Kazansky has a good base and remains in mount. Kazansky controlling his opponent. Whooston tries to hold on but Kazansky pushes him away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Whooston can't escape the position.
Kazansky is working to isolate an arm here. It's a choreographed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Kazansky extends the arm and Whooston is forced to tap!
