Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Anderson Rua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roman Grant (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Anderson Rua!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Roman Grant!
The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Matheus Silva and Paulo Santos.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rua walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Roman Grant seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Grant throws a combination. Rua tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Grant ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Rua moves away.
Grant loads up on a big right hand but Rua slips the punch.
Grant throws a hook but Rua blocks it.

Grant forces Rua back against the cage and clinches.
Grant stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Grant lands a nice uppercut.
Rua tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Grant avoids it.
Rua stalling in the clinch but Grant improves position.
Grant digs a right hand into Rua's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Rua's gas tank.
Grant gets through Rua's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Rua misses with a knee strike.
Grant lands a nice uppercut.
Grant presses Rua against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
Rua blocking some punches.

Grant breaks the clinch.
Grant throws a leg kick that misses.
A nice inside leg kick there by Grant. That's going to slow Rua down.
Grant throws a hook but Rua avoids it easily.
Grant with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Rua tries to close the distance and clinch up but Grant swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Grant lands with a good body shot.
Rua has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Grant.
A good leg kick by Grant.
A jab lands there for Grant.
Rua moves forwards but Grant connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Grant moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.

Grant darts in and clinches Rua up against the cage.
Rua using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Grant has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Grant scores with a shoulder strike.

Rua is rocked!
Grant lands an uppercut in the clinch that drops Rua to his knees! Grant keeps firing more shots against his stricken opponent and the referee jumps in to save him!
