Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between John Otway (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gio Naza (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Naza is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Saliva - Ladies and Gentlemen. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 8 - 0, fighting out of London, John Otway! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 6 - 2, fighting out of London, Gio Naza! The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, William Gold and Paul Tew.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Otway pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Otway cracks Naza with a good jab. Some bone on bone action there as Otway checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. Otway lands with a straight right. Naza didn't see that one coming. Naza tries to work over Otway's front leg with a kick but Otway checks it. Otway connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Naza shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Naza showed some decent athleticism there. Naza looks to land a strike but Otway avoids it nicely and regains full guard. Otway pulls Naza in close to prevent any damage. Naza postures up in Otway's guard and throws a big left but Otway blocks it. Naza trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Naza distracts Otway with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
That's one minute gone in the round. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Naza accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Naza throws and elbow that misses. Otway uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Naza's guard. Nice move by Otway! Otway is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Otway trying to control but Naza is working from the bottom. Otway prevents Naza from getting back to his feet. Otway is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Otway wants to control from the top but Naza keeps moving.
John Otway has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Naza dives in and grabs Otway's left leg, looking for a takedown. Otway pushes down on Naza's head and hops out.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Naza takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Naza looks for a takedown but Otway sprawls well. Naza takes a shot right to the bread basket. Otway uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Naza has time to react. Otway tries to clinch up but Naza circles away and keeps his distance. Naza takes a jab right on the kisser.
Naza changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Otway tries to avoid it but Naza manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Otway to the ground. Otway escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. John Otway has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gio Naza. Otway lands a slapping body shot.
Naza takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Naza shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Otway sprawls well. Otway wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Naza gets slowly back to his feet. Otway lands a body shot.
Otway takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Naza shoots in for a double leg but Otway sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. John Otway is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Otway bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Otway closes the distance and pushes Naza back into the cage.

Naza let out a lung full of air as it connected. Otway's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. Otway pushes Naza back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. Otway keeps control of Naza as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Otway throws a head punch that misses. Otway throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges. Naza prevents a body shot from Otway. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Otway lands a left hand that snaps the head of Naza backwards. Otway displaying some good clinch control by pressing Naza up against the cage. A head punch on the inside from Otway fails to land. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

John Otway seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Naza throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Otway's waist but Otway gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Naza off to one side. Otway tries to close the distance and clinch but Naza swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Otway lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

Gio Naza has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Otway seems to have come into the fight with the intention of avoiding any damage in the clinch, rather than actually showing any aggression.
And that's the end of the fight! John Otway showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Otway, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
