Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jean Charles Skarbowsky (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gabriel Caine (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Gabriel Caine!
The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Thiago Cunha and Mauricio Rocha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Caine is trying hard to land a takedown here. Skarbowsky sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Skarbowsky throws a solid leg kick but Caine takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Skarbowsky.
Skarbowsky does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Skarbowsky fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Caine.
Skarbowsky tries to clinch up but Caine circles away and keeps his distance.
Skarbowsky wants to clinch up but Caine keeps it at a distance.
Skarbowsky avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Jean Charles Skarbowsky seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Skarbowsky moves in looking to clinch but Caine pushes him off.
Caine looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Caine misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Skarbowsky parries the strikes from Caine easily there. Caine is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Skarbowsky to escape.
Caine throws a strike aimed at the side of Skarbowsky's head but Skarbowsky avoids it well.
Caine passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Skarbowsky!
Caine is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Skarbowsky can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Caine cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Skarbowsky is bucking up trying to escape but Caine cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Caine swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Caine looks for a takedown but Skarbowsky sprawls well.
Caine avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
An inside leg kick lands from Skarbowsky.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Skarbowsky uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Caine.
Skarbowsky looks for the body kick but Caine saw that one coming.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

Caine shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Skarbowsky's guard.

Skarbowsky is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
Skarbowsky prevents a takedown attempt there.

Skarbowsky pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Caine is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Skarbowsky's half guard.
Skarbowsky is trying to stand back up but Caine is controlling him

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Caine throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Skarbowsky was covering up waiting for the punch and Caine finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Caine postures up in Skarbowsky's guard and throws a big left but Skarbowsky blocks it.
Caine pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Skarbowsky is keeping the position for now.
Caine thows a big elbow that misses.

Caine is pushing down on Skarbowsky's leg trying to pass to half guard. Skarbowsky is fighting to maintain full guard but Caine has managed to sneak the leg through.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Gabriel Caine will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Caine closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Skarbowsky did well to prevent Caine getting side control.

Caine is stalling here. Skarbowsky is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Caine seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Skarbowsky has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Caine creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Skarbowsky sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Caine is looking to take a break and control but Skarbowsky is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Caine has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Caine throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Skarbowsky works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.
Gabriel Caine is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
