Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, TJ Johnson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Steven Elchert!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Chris Edwards and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck for Johnson with that takedown attempt.

Elchert shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Johnson manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Johnson can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Elchert controls the pace.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Elchert trying to control the position from guard on top but Johnson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Steven Elchert wasn't active enough on the ground.

and Johnson counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Elchert's guard now.
Johnson pushes down on Elchert's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Johnson is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Elchert really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Johnson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Johnson seems to be working for a kimura but Elchert defends the submission attempt.

Elchert is not content to let Johnson control the position.

Johnson is trying to get an arm triangle but Elchert is defending well.

You can see the frustration on Elchert's face as Johnson controls the position.

Johnson is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Elchert knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Johnson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Elchert keeps working.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Johnson is working to tighten is grip on Elchert's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Elchert has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Johnson is really squeezing tight and eventually Elchert passes out! Johnson breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:36 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). TJ Johnson!
