Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Archie Partridge (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Daniel Rhodes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rhodes is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Yah Trick Yah. Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Archie Partridge!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Daniel Rhodes!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Tiny Johnson and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Partridge tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Rhodes swivels and escapes.
Rhodes looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Partridge shoots in but no luck this time.
Partridge changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Rhodes tries to avoid it but Partridge manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Rhodes to the ground. Rhodes escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Archie Partridge. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Partridge shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Rhodes but Rhodes pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Rhodes stuffs the takedown attempt from Partridge. Partridge gets slowly back to his feet.

Rhodes fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Partridge sprawls well initially but Rhodes persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Partridge wants to control but Rhodes is keeping busy.
Rhodes is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Rhodes really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Partridge. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Partridge is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Rhodes defends well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Rhodes accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Rhodes must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Partridge with a poor takedown

and Rhodes decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Partridge's guard.

Partridge will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

Partridge has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Rhodes can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Rhodes can do anything to dispel that myth.

Well Rhodes has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
